Hi there

I am trying to activate registrations (using quick registration form) and i am able to change the setting so new users can register, and upon registration an email is triggered to both the designated Admin email and also to the new user. However, upon registration, the person receives a joomla error 'Please login first', and it is not clear if the registration was in fact successful.

Am i missing something in my set up or do i have a setting configured wrongly to cause this?

How do i either a) customise the error following registration to confirm the user has registered successfully and to explain what will happen next or b) how can i redirect upon registration to an article with this information?

Thanks

Paul
Hello Paul,

I believe there is some mis-configuration on your site. It is most likely that, you have created a menu item that uses the account layout but the menu item is restricted to registered users only or there is a 3rd party plugin performing redirections

By default, after registering the user, EasySocial will display a screen that looks similar to this, http://take.ms/o5e28

Hi Mark

Thanks for this.

Yes, I had a EasySocial Dashboard menu item that was set up as 'Registered' - my thinking was that this would then become available to users that are registered and logged in.

I've found if I create a hidden menu item that is public and menu item in my main navigation that is visible only to registered users, that works as i would like.

When can i customise the registration 'success message'? Where do i find this?

I appreciate the help - I've just upgraded to 2.X and so I'm still finding my way around the settings as we as finally preparing to launch my community site.

Many thanks

Paul

Hello Paul,

Thanks for updating me on this. May I know which message are you referring to here?

The message the user sees upon completing the registration form and when a moderator/administrator needs to approve their registration.

Cheers

Hello Paul,

As I am not too sure which particular "sentence" you are referring to, I can't give you the exact language string line but you could actually just load up the file /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easysocial.ini and search for the sentence and start changing them on the language file
