Fact: the playlist is only uploaded files
Setting: ONLY audio links
Result: playlist module in the sidebar is always displayed and is confusing users

-> I'm sure what you mean here, can you explain more in detail?

Do you have a work around to not display the playlist module?

-> Correct me if I'm wrong here, do you mean the audio widget in the profile page http://take.ms/bzDfA ? You actually can setting it in the backend (applications>applications>audio-user: http://take.ms/bi6Kr )

In the future can you please add a setting or a core config to display the module ONLY when audio uploads are enabled (e.g. profile type settings ACLs - audio uploads: yes)?

-> Correct me if I'm wrong here, do you mean you want to only shows the audio widget if there is the user have an audio uploaded/embed(link) into their profile? If yes, actually the audio widget will remain hidden unless you've upload/embedd(link) an audio.
