Yes, many people are sensitive about their age and year of birth showing up in public.

As checksum requested, a feature f havingthe option of showing the Birthday Day only is a good idea.

It would be nice to have an option for admin to set the default (display/hide year and/or age) and another option for member to choose within their profile privacy if they want it displayed or not depending on the admin default.

Right now the profile shows the age next to the cake icon. Option to show the date instead (ie: January 1) would be nice.

I too would like better control over the birthday feature. I almost made a request until I saw this thread, For myself I'd like to be able to show the age without a date.
