I just installed EasyDiscuss, and have some issues:

If you navigate to discuss on my site, you will see that the login bootstrap modal box won't respond (click sign-in on the top bar). The EasyDiscuss topbar is not showing either. It seems like it's a bootstrap / js conflict somewhere.

I have installed the content plugin v3.23, and have some issues with it

The read more linked inserted into the discussion is not SEO friendly:
index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3713:rotita-com&catid=49:ecommerce-stores&Itemid=965#discuss-3713

Some read more text are wrong (example: rams&Itemid=1052#discuss-3788">Read full article)

I would need some advice how to place the tread in a custom position in articles. Is it possible to load it trough a module or using some PHP code?

I would need some advice how to place the tread in a custom position in articles. Is it possible to load is elsewhere (ie. in a bootstrap tab inside the article)

Feature request 1: it would give more flexibility to load discussions tread as an module

Feature request 2: don´t add new threads automatically, but only when it´s a question added to the article.
Hey Espen,

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue? Also, if you want to "link" an article into an existing discussion, you can use the plugin from http://stackideas.com/forums/content-plugin-v3-alpha-for-easyblog,-joomla-articles-and-k2

I have installed the content plugin. The link that you have attached is version 3.0.7, and will crash the site. I have downloaded the 3.2.3 version of the plugin from the download area. I really would need the flexibility to add the discussion to a different place then in the button of the article.

The EasyDiscuss nav toolbar seems to be working on mobile devices. It looks like a bootstrap conflict with sourcecoast or/and iReview template for jreview.

The login detail is added.

hey Espen,

I am sorry that delay of this reply, please find your answer in your queries below ;

May i know which login dropdown do you referring to? Check my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/j8Fkkc95D
because I noticed Easydiscuss login icon is not appear on toolbar.

I'm still investigate on this issue and get back to you as soon as possible.

Unfortunately that was not possible in current system.

Feature request 1: it would give more flexibility to load discussions tread as an module
Feature request 2: don´t add new threads automatically, but only when it´s a question added to the article.

Thanks for your suggestion, it would be best if you can submit a feature request regarding this in our voice page -> http://stackideas.com/voices/easydiscuss, so everyone else could vote for it, the more people request on this, and we will priority consider it.

i'm referring to the Sign In on the right top (not the EasyDiscuss login symbol). By clicking on Sign In you will get a login modal box, but if you try to type your username here, the modal box will close. This only happens on this page.

The EasyDiscuss toolbar is missing, and will only show on smaller screens. It seems like there are some bootstrap issues with EasyDiscuss.

I did some investigation myself. It seems like your style.css is not complient with Bootstrap 3.

Using this classes will override other bootstrap classes and cause conflicts.

From style.css
.modal-backdrop {
position: fixed;
top: 0;
right: 0;
bottom: 0;
left: 0;
z-index: 1040;
background-color: #000;
}
.modal-backdrop.fade {
opacity: 0;
}

Is it possible to shrink the style.css? It is quite huge.

Hey Espen,

Thanks for updating us on this. Are your issues resolved now? EasyDiscuss is actually running on Bootstrap 2 and not Bootstrap 3. I guess this is why it is conflicting. Unfortunately it is not possible to shrink the css but if you add gzip compression on your htaccess, it would be reduced greatly

I haven´t edited any script yet as i sent a pre-sale request to ask if ED was bootstrap 3 complaint, and got a positive feedback that ED was fully Bootstrap 3 compliant. Bootstrap 2 is rather old and is no longer officially supported. I know how to edit the css, but i would like a official version that are fully complaint with bootstrap 3. Adjusting bootstrap 2 to bootstrap 3 is not very recommended, and are causing difficulties.

I have turned on gzip, but find it a bit strange that the css file has more rows then all my other css files combined.

ED seems like a great component, but unfortunately i can´t use any bootstrap 2 components on my site. If this can´t be fixed, i would ask for a refund.

Hey Espen,

Regarding with your second issue :

I have installed the content plugin v3.23, and have some issues with it

The read more linked inserted into the discussion is not SEO friendly:
index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3713:rotita-com&catid=49:ecommerce-stores&Itemid=965#discuss-3713

Some read more text are wrong (example: rams&Itemid=1052#discuss-3788">Read full article)

I have applied some fix in this file JoomlaFolder\plugins\content\easydiscuss\easydiscuss.php , it should work fine now.
But it can't change your existing discussion post "read more" link to show SEF URL.
Can you try follow my instruction and regenerate the correct "read more link" from your discussion.
#1. Delete your existing which discussion post is generated from your Joomla article.
#2. Go to your PHPmyadmin > find this table #__discuss_posts_references` > truncate all the data in this table
#3. Then go to your frontpage > click on "View discussion" button > it will regenerate a new discussion post and correct link back to Joomla article.

Great

It seems like working, but i'll do some more testing.

Is there any ETA for EasyDiscuss to use bootstrap 3 instead of bootstrap 2?
