Is there anything in the backend that allows the admins to disable users from creating groups? Or be able to control where users can create groups?
Hello Antonio,

Yes, it's possible to disable this in the profile access area Depending on which user profile the user is assigned to, you can customize the access accordingly

Hi Mark I got a quick question, on my site I got Categories of Groups that I don't want people to create new groups under (example Category: (MLB) with Major League Baseball team groups, i don't want people adding more groups to this category) but I have other categories like Baseball where I would welcome new groups. Will you guys actually make it to where we can control where a user can create a group? I've used Wordpress/Buddypress and this functionality was available, as you know I was also with JomSocial and this was a functionality coming in their roadmap. I love EasySocial over those two by a long shot but i think this functionality will give use admins a little more control over our sites. I want to give users the ability to create groups but only where I want them to create them. This functionality worked really well on my Wordpress/Buddypress site.

Hello Antonio,

I am actually still contemplating of adding the category restrictions in the profiles access or the category itself. How does BuddyPress allow you to restrict which category a user is allowed to create under?

Hi Mark that's great, BuddyPress didn't actually have categories they only had groups but as a admin you were able to control if you wanted to let your users create groups under which groups you allowed.

Hello Antonio,

You can already do the same in EasySocial because each users are assigned to a profile and the access are actually binded to the Profile. So you can actually allow / disallow specific user profiles to create groups

Anyway in the next RC, I have added the ability to restrict group creations per category basis

Hey Mark,

That's great we'll be able to do that on the next RC, that way even if a user is able to create a group they won't be able to create them were we don't want them too. The way it is now we have to actually tell the user don't create a group under this category/group if we grant them access with their profile. Anywho you guys are doing a great good you definitely have a very bright future ahead.
