I did not find where to deactivate the trophies and points system.
-> You can setting it at backend by:
1. Click Settings>General>General tab>Disable achievement and points

And do not wait for an administrator's approval for new profiles to have access to the social network.
-> You can setting this under:
1. Click Profile types>choose profile type>General>Registration>Registration type
