I want users to ear points for reading articles, HOWEVER, I do not want the entire news feed filled to the brim with a post every time a user clicks on an article. Since updating to the new version, it's the only thing you can really see anymore, it eclipses all other posts.

I've disabled the points, assuming this will disable the feed notice. However, I would really like users to be able to earn points. How can this be accomplished?

UPDATE: Disabling the points for reading an article did not disable the feed posts. How do I get rid of these?
Hello Beth,

Can you provide us your backend and FTP access so we can have a better look on your issue here?

Hey beth,

I have tried to access in your Joomla backend, but i hitting this :
Warning
Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.

By the way, you can disable the `read joomla article` stream from your backend > Easysocial > Application > search "article" > click 'user - article' > read article - NO

Regarding with your second question,
Disable "...is reading an article..." feed post, but still give points - how?

You need to disable the point from your backend > Easysocial > user point > find `Article Read by User` > set to unpublished.

Hope this helps.

Did you make the setting change in the Article application? It's already set to No, so if you did not change it then it's still an issue. The point is already disabled, and that did not stop the stream post. I don't want the point disabled, I want them to get points for reading articles, I just don't want the stream post.

Let me know if you updated the stream post in the application to no.

Hey Beth,

I am sorry that delay of this reply,

It seems like that was cache issue, after I enabled back `read article` point rule and app settings, it will only appear one stream for "who is reading the article xxx" and the system will add the point to the reader follow his current IP address.

Can you give it a try and see is it still getting multiple point and read article stream?

Arlex,

We seem to have a misunderstanding here. I never said there were two streams or double points. I don't want this to keep showing up in the stream AT ALL. I want to disable it (see the title of the forum post). Disabling the points does not work, it still shows up in the stream.

This never showed up in the stream before, this just started after the last point upgrade. It's clogging up the ENTIRE feed, and no one can see anything else. It's ridiculous, and I want it gone. If the only way to make it go away is to disable to point, then that's what we need to do, but that did not work.

It was already set to no, so there was nothing to change. I don't really understand here. The app was already at no, the point was already disabled, and I was still getting the feed. CloudAccess is apparently down so I can't check this now, but I do hope whatever you did fixed it. i am confused as to how you went from No to No in the app and changed anything, but hopefully it's resolved either way.

Hey Beth,

I believe I have explained that was cache issue in my previous reply after I troubleshoot.

Perhaps you can watch my video here : http://screencast.com/t/IKCZaYK1loq

This is what I tested again in the morning, perhaps I missed up something here.

Looking forward of your response.
