Disable Comments on Discussion Entries in Activity Stream

I think it is very confusing that there is an option to Comment on the entry of a Forum Discussion or Group Discussion to the Stream, but that the actual Forum or Group Discussion is in the Forum or a Group's Discussion application.

Is there a way to disable comments on those particular items in the feed so that people will follow the links to the actual discussions?
hey troy,
that's currently not possible. you can control IF there should be a stream generated for group discussions but once it is then the comment function will be there as well.

if you want to bring this up as a feature idea feel free to post it at http://stackideas.com/voices , that's the place we're monitoring when it comes to planning for feature implementation in upcoming versions.

@Alex, okay, I saw that setting, but like discussions to show up in the feed. I'll have to decide what to do. Thank you for the tip, too.

perhaps this small snippet helps you along the way - just add it to your custom css file 



.type-discussions.streamItem.es-stream-full.stream-context-discussions .action-title-comments.streamAction {display:none !important;}

however, I extended the code and now also the kunena comments link has gone at your site. have a nice day

Alex, oh, maybe I jumped back into the wrong thread. Someone had set this for me to block comments on the Kunena, too. I see now that this thread was for Groups. I'm sorry about the confusion. And wow, thank you so much for doing that anyway! I don't think I've ever known such great support from any other service ever.
