dear stackideas,
i need a different layout for the category view, the title should be next to the image and not above (see attachment)
the function getintro delivers image & text, is there a way to adapt this smootfully?

item layout works fine.

looking forward for feedback,

cheers
bart
Hi afberlin,

Do you mean in the frontpage listing layout? If yes, you actually can try to use cobalt theme and make the cover photo to be align to the left: https://www.screencast.com/t/m0rQOScTMro (settings>layout>post cover)
This might fit to your prefer layout: https://www.screencast.com/t/txzPmFoVq

many thans for your feedback.

before starting this template, i decided to update to easyblog 5.1.2, now this destroyed my template & css overrides and even settings.
this is the second time this happens to me, which is quite annoying.

is this planned because of a big structural software update, if so can this be told before updating?
if this happens once more, i won't update the software anymore (and also the licence).

Hello Afberlin,

We did not actually make a lot of modifications on the theme files in 5.1. If you have performed css modifications, can you please provide us with the changes that you have made and also the page that is having these issues?

many thanks for feedback.

well, i had following problems:

- was my old overrides php triggered an error. so i had to take the original template again and over work it.

- only the latest post-cover images were shown, here the url started with //domain.name/images...
the older images started with "images", so i updated this in the override too.

- another problem i had, was my css referred to #fb.eb which was the main container.
it had to be replaced by "#eb"

i come little by little again by the orginal template layout, only it took me 3 hours

Thanks for updating us on this afberlin. We understand that it is very frustrating to update but this is a much needed update by us to ensure that your site loads faster.

For instance, every CSS selector in EasyBlog 5.0 uses #fd.eb . In other words, every single selector uses 3 more characters which uses up to 3 bytes for every selector. Multiply it by the thousands of selector, you get to minimize the file size.

If you are stuck, we are always here to help, just let us know if you have problems porting your theme to the 5.1 structure.

thanks, i managed it to make everything work again.

don't get me wrong, i know updates are necessary, but if the information is given the update is not just 1 click, i can postpone it to a point where i have time to do it.
