Different blog features by category

Hi,

I am a newbe here and I am trying to integrate Easyblog in a new site. (unfortunal, still not operational)

My question: Is it possible to realize different lay-out features by catogory or by single article? In K2 it is possible to set these featues per catogory. And each lower category, these features are copied, or can be modified. So, even each singele article can be fully customized.
In Easyblog, I cannot find this possibility. I cannot set modifications by catogory, and only a few modifications by article are allowed. ( I want to choose to enable/disable social buttons, comments, bookmarks et cetera).

Did I overlook this possibility or is it not possible? And if not, is there another way to realize my wishes?

Welcome on board Unfortunately EasyBlog is unlike K2 where K2 you are using it as a CCK tool. What EasyBlog is, is simply a blogging extension Currently, you can't really configure this at the category level but if you modify the theme files accordingly, you will be able to customize the behavior of each category layout.

However, in EasyBlog 4.0, we will be changing this behavior It will be pretty similar in a combination of EasySocial (Profiles) and EasyDiscuss (Categories) where you can configure most of the settings at the category level.

Ok, I understand you can't predict this precisely. But a global prediction?
Will Easyblog 4.0 comes in a few months, or do I have to wait a year or more?

Is the time schedule more clear at this moment?
In your last reply at 18 february you expexted months !? But at this moment, it is already more than four months later!.
So your best guess at this moment: can we expect something this summer, early autumn or perheaps just at the end of this year?

I know, I am very impatient, but the redesign of my website is waiting for it

Hello,

Unfortunately we don't have an ETA for this yet but I can let you know that we are pretty close to an alpha / beta . We also need to revamp our installer script to accommodate upgrades from 3.9 to 5.0
