I am wondering if leaving the Typography options out of the Charm template using Helix Ultimate was an intentional decision or is this something that is supposed to be available but is somehow missing?

I would like to be able to control the typography some.

Thanks, Sean
Hi Sean,

Yes it was intended to remove the typography in Charm template. This issue has been answered by our template designer in this ticket:

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding

Thank you very much,

I am actually happy enough with the typography of the Charm template but am also happy to know I could use css overrides to change it.

Do you by any chance know why I have somehow lost the template fonts on my site? I lost them early. One place to look is in the header where I have completely lost the font of your choosing for the site title of DrCarney.com which is configured in the Logo Text field using the string CHARM_TPL

I also believe that on the login and the other pages I have also lost your font choices. Is that possibly because I need to be using different names for the positions. I basically just used the position names from my old site.

Hi Sean,

Not sure why it still show the CHARM_TPL in the template setting, I've tried to rename and resave the setting seems the Logo text are intact now http://take.ms/hgajR

Actually it was working properly in that it was pullling the language override from CHARM_TPL and displaying the proper string. But...

For some reason it is no longer displaying the font from the Charm template. And, I think that somehow I am NOT getting the Charm template fonts and formatting. This is especially true in the "Bottom" row and in the MegaMenu. They seem to have too much space between the links and not enough space above each heading.

Could my template somehow not be pulling your fonts and typography?

Thanks, Sean

PS. I put back the string CHARM_TPL since it is actually working properly in that it is displaying the Language override text. It is just the formatting that is missing.

Sorry Sean for my misunderstanding, I've consult this with our developer, basically the previous one it was using image with meddon font instead of text. You can do css override for the logo text using the bellow:
[gist type="php"]
#sp-header .logo {
font-family: meddon;
}
[/gist]

They seem to have too much space between the links and not enough space above each heading.

Do you mean the spacing between this submenu shown here? https://www.screencast.com/t/a7sCEgDA

Yes, that is the spacing that I certainly want to tighten up. It is also happening in the items in my Bottom row modules as well.

Is that how you intended them to look?

Thank you very much for pointing this out. I suspect this is a Google font.
I have put the code in and it works.

But, now that I know it is a Google font I am assuming I can use this trick to display any other Google font for this. And, I may change it here to a font more to our liking and then change the login page as well.

Thank you, Sean

Can I use any Google font? The reason I ask is because I have tried some fonts and not had them display. So, my question is whether there is something I am not aware of that limits which fonts I can use.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I think that is possible to use Google font, is it you would like to show all the Google font for all the pages or only certain part?

May i know which Google font you would like to use?

I changed my mind on the logo space and just uploaded an image. But, I will think about the Google Fonts. I tried to use quite a few different fonts and it seemed like only the font meddon would display properly in that space. But, my wife did not like that font there.

Are we sure that the fonts that are displaying now are the fonts you designed for the template?

If so, I think that I will try to live with what you have selected in order to reduce the lines in my custom.css file. :-)

Sean

PS. My host just scheduled emergency service to the server for this evening so I will let you know when that is finished so that nobody spends time working on this until their server issues are resolved.
