If a member is deleted from EasySocial, they are still showing in Search results and when you click on that username, it gives a 404 error.

I understand ES uses Joomla Smart search. So if a user is deleted how long will it take for the changes to take effect? Do I need to reindex smart search results each time so it doesnt have invalid records? Can you tell me the process to reindex? I have like 14.000 members now and I guess reindexing can take sometime. Before I do that, I want to confirm what I need to do so I dont get it wrong.
Hi Neel,

I am sorry for the delayed reply.
I have found out that this is a bug from our end. I am really sorry. Here I have attached to you a file, please download it and put it in your site here: .../administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/user/user.php .

As for your already deleted user, you need to remove them manually and no need to reindex the smart search. Please go to Components > Smart Search and find your deleted user. Here is my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/PU8lLjSwoC .

Please give this a try and see if this resolves your issue.

Thank you Yasser. I added your updated user.php and manually deleted the old users from smart search.

Hi Yasser, another question on smart search index. If a user updates or changes something on their existing profiles, are these changes index by smart search straight away? Do I ever need to manually run the index manually in any cases? When I was reading about smart search, some say that although smart search might index straight away when new contents are added it is better to run index again. I dont have experience with smart search and I only use smart search for EasySocial component and nothing else. So I am wondering if I ever need to run the index once every few days or is that not required.

Sorry for my ignorance on this.

Yes, they will be updated automatically, you don't need to re-run the indexer.

Thanks Mark, Too easy.

I've got couple of other issues with search index and k2 plugins for which I've created a ticket for that since that has my site details. I know its late now and looking forward in hearing from your team tomorrow. Have a good night
