Hi guys...
Now, I may be missing something here, but don't think I am. When I created my profile structures in the back end of ES, quite a few fields had default options, be that the text (e.g. "I'd rather not say") or in drop-down/check boxes.
I've noticed that if a user registers through quick registration, that these values aren't applied to their profile. This means that when another user looks at their profile, they often see just blank pages.
Surely the point of defaults is that if a user doesn't specify an answer (as they don't in Quick-Reg), these values are automatically selected for them to fill out their profile.
Am I wrong? If this behaviour is by design, could we possibly have an option to allow the site admin to say "automatically fill out profile with defaults in quick registrations"?
Dave
Hello Dave,

I think the problem here is the term that was used. It should actually just be "placeholders" rather than "default". The current "defaults" are actually just placeholders that will be used as a placeholder text on input boxes.

Ah... OK...
So if I put Placeholders in, will they get automatically added to the profile in quick registrations?
Of course, placeholders are only available on text boxes, not on things like checkboxes.
I think ES needs the ability to allow default values to be filled in on user's profiles if specified and allowed by the site admin when using things like quick registrations, otherwise profiles look very blank
