This is something really tricky, because we tend to end up giving users too much choices and settings Look at EasyBlog as we are our "victim of our own success". When we end up giving too many options, we will find ourselves having to write more documentation and not only that, we have to support users who doesn't understand these features

However, this is probably one of the settings that is worth looking into though.

I understand that, but I still believe that an option in the backend (not the users) would do the trick.

What if I wanted that customization? Would you do it? And if so, how much would it cost?

I really need to have discussions show sorted latest to oldest by default. This seems like a reasonable request. I have discussions that have hundreds of replies and the people who view them the most are actively watching them and have already read the old posts.

This post is actually for Komento but I believe you are referring to EasyDiscuss? You can actually already sort items by oldest first in EasyDiscuss discussions. You can configure this in the back end settings of EasyDiscuss as you can see here, http://screencast.com/t/4swacLCa2
