This action of setting the profile type "copy" as the new default creates trouble if the user is not aware of the current action. I would suspect that few users would prefer the "copy" to be the default and if so, they could more easily change the setting rather than remember to change this default setting back to the correct profile type.

To test this process: Open a profile type>Save Copy of default profile type>see new copy in list view is set to the default. In my case, I am testing new profile type settings, creating new profile types based upon my default or simply testing a new configuration in custom tab.

Hi Tkabe,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

Ah I see. I am able to replicate the issue in my local instance and will try to include the fix to this issue in the next release of easysocial.

Hi Tkabe,

I am sorry but I'm not quite understand what is the exact issue here. Do you mean that every time you trying to save your current existing profile type as copy, the profile type that have been copied will become default profile automatically?

Please advise.

Yes.

The example provided was however using save as with the existing default profile. The copy not the original default profile becomes the new default. That really does not make sense for the reasons described.

See site detail - copy the current default profile as a test.

Hey TKabe,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I have tried to reproduce this error on your site but wasn't able to reproduce this. If you noticed, there is another profile type called "Returning Scholar". I have edited the other one and clicked on Save as Copy and the new one wasn't set as default. Am I missing anything here?

Mark,

I'll try to provide the steps here:
1. Open the current/existing default profile.
2. Select "save as copy"
3. See the profile type list view for details - the default profile has now changed to the copy just created.

The default profile should not change when an admin/SU makes a copy. This change in which profile is now the default can cause trouble with registrations to the wrong profile.

Can you schedule this fix for a future update and let me know which revision will include the fix.

See screen capture attached.

Ezrul,

I'm glad you were able to verify my testing and recommend this item for feature update.

Thanks!
