I have replaced an avatar at:

templates/TEMPLATE/html/com_easysocial/avatars/user/medium.png

but the default image on the dashboard is still:

media/com_easysocial/defaults/avatars/user/medium.png
This only seems to be happening on 1 of my ES2 sites. Included above. All the settings are the same as other sites.

Hi Jordan Weinstein,

I have replaced an avatar at: templates/TEMPLATE/html/com_easysocial/avatars/user/medium.png

Regarding the above, I just checked your Joomla template the EasySocial override folder but I dont see any medium.png file. I only see one square.png file in 'user' folder. Please see http://take.ms/qqWds

Please advise.

Hi Jordan,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding your issue, I went to your EasySocial backend but it seems like EasySocial redirect me to installation page. Are you running EasySocial upgrades on your site? Please advise.

Anyway, to your original question, after checking the code, look like if your profile types has a default avatar configured, EasySocial will ignore the avatar from override folder and use the one from your profile type instead.

Hope this help and have a nice day!

I'm not sure why it was set to upgrade. Anyways, I completed the upgrade, removed the default avatar from the profile and it still isn't using the override.

Hi Jordan,

Em, i not sure if this is cache related or not but look like some users still showing default avatar from EasySocial and some are showing the avatar from template override. Please see http://screen.stackideas.com/Network_-_TalkTMA_2016-11-04_20-33-32.png

Can you try to clear all your Joomla cache / template cache and see if that helps?

If issue persist after clearing the cache, then can you pass me the access to your phpMyadmin so that I can verify the user's avatar from your database.

Please advise.

Unfortunately that didn't work. I added cPanel info to site details

I looked at the database tables. in _social_avatars if a user as an entry there but the columns are blank for small, medium, square, then it will pull the standard avatar from media/com_easysocial. If you delete that user from the table, then on the front-end it will load the overridden avatar. So I'm not sure if there is something wrong there. But it seems that users should not have blank entries in the avatar columns.

Jordan,

Did you removed the site access from this ticket? I am only seeing the cpanel access.

I sprinkled some love and made it behave itself Kidding, I am still experimenting with it and comparing it with 1.4 but from what I can see now, there is an avatar_id being assigned to these users somehow but it doesn't have a default avatar but adding some checks before blindly using a default avatar from the profile should solve this issue
