Dear Mark,

I have yesterday late evening migrated server to Siteground
In Easydiscuss emails sent through cron
> Automatically Spam is been added in subject line
> Email not going to all recipients, only to select recipients

When checked with Siteground as per them -
"The thing that is adding SPAM in front of your emails is not coming from our server. I've checked all of the anti-spam protections that we run and neither of them is enabled also neither of them is editing the object of the emails.

I presume that this is coming from plugin that you are using or from the plugin that is sending the emails.

I'd recommend you to check with the developers of the plugin as they should have better understanding of it and easily remove the issue causing that to you.

Can you help in it - what to do
You can view the list of e-mails in the email activity at the back end and see if the subjects of the email has these "SPAM" words. If it doesn't then it would most likely be some other plugins adding a prefix to the subject.

I would suggest that you try to turn off all system plugins first and check in your translations.

P/S: You also want to check on the receiver's end. Does their mail server have spam assassin / any other anti spam tools that tries to rewrite the subject?

As per SG - "The issue here is that the server IP does not have any PTR record. We have just added one and this may take some time until it propagates."

Do you feel this could be the issue which is sending spam?

Could you advise how to temporarily disable in sending notification emails to users - for new replies or post been published. Only the administrator should recieve in email for moderation / publishing post

On EASY DISCUSS Version: 3.2.9599

thanks

You need to hack the cron library in /components/com_easydiscuss/classes/mailqueue.php .

By the way, please remember to assign your domain to your license to obtain for support in the future. You can do so by accessing your license area at http://stackideas.com/dashboard
