Dashboard default News Feed (Everyone)

I have set the Dashboard default start item to "Everyone" under ES > Settings > User settings > Dashboard behavior but the dashboard always starts with "Me & Friends"

This makes the newly registered users leave the site because they don't see anything in the Dashboard after they register as they dont have any friends yet and the dashboard only shows "Me and Friends" News feeds

I changed ES theme but its the same.

please help!!

It is because in your menu item setting, you have set to use this: http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-05-18_1101.png . I've changed to Inherit from Easysocial Settings and the filter is working now. Please have a look.
