Hello,

In a recent post, you explained to me how give a custom theme for a category. And until recently it's working fine. But with the very last update this functionnality stop to work for me.

First I've think I've broke the system with my manipulations. So, as I'm in testing process, I've restored a backup of five days ago (with version 5.30.0).

I have :
- copy the entire wireframe directory in my template/html/com_easyblog/themes
- put the Greenie theme as default
- create a new category and give it Wireframe as custom theme
- create two menu items : one to uncategorized category and one to my new category
- unpublish the default menu item for EasyBlog (post frontpage)

=> in 5.30.0 it's working perfectly. I see the theme changing as I select default or new category menu.

After that I have upgraded Joomla : no changes;
Then I have upgraded EasyBlog to the last version (5.30.1) : the fonctionnality stop working, I have the Greenie theme in all the menu item.

If you could help me on this subject...

Merry Christmas,
Christophe
Hey Christophe,

There is actually a bug in versions prior to 5.0.31. Basically, it was working for you in 5.0.30 is because the "wireframe" theme is still being rendered even if you have a custom css file.

If you want to create a custom theme for the category, you need to copy the themes into the following folder,

/templates/JOOMLA_TEMPLATE/html/com_easyblog/themes/THEME_XXX/

Apart from that, you also need to copy the style.css file in the following location:

/templates/JOOMLA_TEMPLATE/html/com_easyblog/themes/THEME_XXX/styles/custom.css

I don't find style.css file... Do you mean style.min.css ?

When I copy the style.min.css to custom.css in the /templates/JOOMLA_TEMPLATE/html/com_easyblog/themes/THEME_XXX/styles directory, it's work, but I loose all the icons.

Is it possible to create 2 custom themes from the same main theme (for exemple greenie1 & greenie2, with just differents color palette) ?

Thanks,
Christophe

Hey Christophe,

You will also need to customize the custom.css to point to the respective icon locations The category templating is "assuming" that you want to override everything

Ok, I have replaced all the url from the @font-face rule of Font Awesome, and now it's working fine.

A last little question : where could I get the style.css (the non minified file) ? I want to use this version as a base of work.

Thanks,
Christophe

Hey Christophe,

Currently, we are actually using less css to compile less files into css files. Your best bet is to edit the less files and copy them into your theme file
