A user reported this problem which I've verified:

2 Users are both in the same Profile Type. That Profile Type has a custom field (AcyMailing).... one of the users sees it when they edit their profile, the other doesn't!

Also the reason this was reported was the user who doesn't see this field was trying to edit her profile and it kept saying not all fields were completed. The one that wasn't was the one that wasn't even displaying for her... so she'd have never known! (I've since switched it to non-mandatory and verified she can save her profile now)

Any idea where I could look to solve, or will you need access details to look into this one?

UPDATE: I've added a user account to the 'additional info' on this ticket you can use to see that the AcyMailing field is not showing up on 'Edit Profile' - This seems to be affecting new users (perhaps that's a clue?) - older user accounts I've tried DO see it on 'Edit Profile'
Hi there,

Currently, it will not shown you those fields if you didnt not subscribe to them. May i know how exactly you created those users? Based on current Acymailing settings, newly registered users will be automatically subscribed to them. I have checked Test Andy and that user are no subscribed to Acymailing currently as you can see here http://take.ms/tDecF

Can you provide us with more details why those users are not subscribed automatically to Acymailing? Please advice.

Hi Abdul,

Thanks for helping me with this one. I created that user ("Test Andy") through my standard EasySocial Join page (mysite.com / join)

In compliance with GDPR good practice, I no longer auto-subscribe my users to a newsletter - they have to choose... that is why I added the field to the sign-up for them to select YES or NO.

I did have that set to 'mandatory' but today I changed it to 'optional' because of the issue that person reported of not being able to save her edited profile due to this field not appearing on profile edit, so she had no idea about it!

Hi there,

Currently, that how it should behave actually.

That how Acymailing works and we need to respect those behaviour currently. For your informations, Acymailing custom field is only for updating subscribe state. Meaning that, it will only update the subscribe state for users if and only if those users already on subscribers list ( http://take.ms/zSHCh ).

You need to enforce your users to subscribed to your list first. Meaning to say that, you will need to make sure that you configure them accordingly here http://take.ms/VJJfaf. Currently, you have set them wrongly here and your users are not auto subscribed to your list. You will need to select those list accordingly.

For those users that are not on subscriber list/new users, you can import them accordingly here http://take.ms/HdO7K. Thanks for your understanding.

OK thanks for the explanation.

I'll need to think this through in terms of GDPR law because I think forcing subscription even if you tell users they can then turn it off is non-compliant nowadays. Maybe I'm wrong on that though - I guess as a condition of joining it is up to them to agree or just not join the site. Hmmm. Yes maybe that logic works!

..but at least I understand how everything is currently working though thanks to your explanations. Much appreciated.
