Hi

I have another odd issue, problem i have is i dont know exactly how long its been occurring or whats causing it but the cursor keys are not working when editing or writing text.

So for example - if i go in the box - "Share whats new" and type in some text i cant use the cursor keys to go left and right.

It only seems to be happening in Easysocial and Komento, all works fine in Easyblog and Kunena.

Any idea what the problem may be, do i have a conflict somewhere?

If you could have a look i'd appreciate it

Cheers

Steve
Okay, after spending hours on the site, it seems like this issue is coming from your HWDMedia component. As soon as I rename the folder /media/com_hwdmediashare , the cursor keys are starting to work fine again

Hey Steve,

I do believe that this issue could be caused by "Arrowchat" because most of these chat systems has "key detection / shortcuts". Can you try disabling it temporarily and see if the problem still persists?

If it does, can you pass us the ftp access please?

Sure, let me know how it goes. I wouldn't really "blame" joomla per-se but it's your choice of installing these plugins / addons

Hm, perhaps if you can pass me the FTP access and I'll perform some code forensics there.

Hi

I'm not sure if you have had a look at our site yet, i have no idea whats going on with the cursor keys, very strange issue indeed. Below is a list i've done while doing some testing.

This is a weird one indeed. I'll list the issues here and you can see for yourself.

Cursor Keys work when editing or creating posts in the Forum.
The Cursor Keys work when admin Edit or Create Post in our Blog (News Section)

However

If you come into the forum from a link on the "Social Stream" - the cursor keys do not work?

The cursor keys do not work when "Adding a Comment"
The cursor keys do not work when you "Share whats new" in the Social Stream?
When in media Section - if you click left or right arrow the site loads next video? So if you type a Comment, and then press Cursor Keys, the comment is lost and new video loads up?

Does the above help?

Cheers

Hi

Sorry i'll turn it off now - if you could let me know when i can turn it back on i'd appreciate it.

I did turn it off when i did some testing, i also unpublished any modules that were on relevant pages and also turned off various plugins.

It's possible its something to do with Gantry, i am aware that gantry can cause a few issues but again i'm at a loss because the cursor keys work in some situations and not in others.

Trust me, it can only happen to me lol

Cheers

Really, thats very odd - i'll contact the company and inform them.

I really appreciate what you have done, is there anything i can do to make up for your lost time.

I'll also mention to Davros (HWD) about what you have done and the time spent.

Thanks

Steve

Thank you very much for the kind words Steve and I appreciate this very much! It is greatly motivating to see customers like yourself because most of the time, everyone will just blame us for anything that doesn't work on their site and it's a little sad though
