Hi, team -

As you know, my site relies heavily on EasySocial, EasyBlog AND K2, and I am trying to integrate the user's experiences across them as much as possible. While I was on JomSocial, I relied on Komento for comments; during the migration process I temporarily disabled all commenting to simplify things. Now, I'm trying to figure out what options I have for integrated commenting.

I found many tickets from 2014-15 in the forum on these questions and I see it's something you've been working on over time so I was hoping you could clarify the current state of things (or is there somewhere you can point to in your marketing materials / documentation where I can find this?)

First off, Is there an EasySocial comments plugin for K2? [I think I saw that somewhere but now I can't figure it out...]

Here is what I am trying to accomplish - can this be done via EasySocial comments? Komento?

1) User can comment in K2 or EasyBlog articles, or on EasySocial activity stream

2) When user comments in either a K2 or EasyBlog item, an entry is made on the activity stream, with a link back to the item.

2a) Ideally, this activity stream item should include the item's primary image, and also its tags.

[I've tried your new Articles Stream plugin - I found that it grabs the tags but did not grab the item itself. Thus, I could create an activity stream item that had the same tags as the article where I created it, but I couldn't create a comment upon that item with those tags. Also, I found that the comment entered while I was on article A would also display on article B, C and any other content that I visited that day, rather than being anchored to article A. What I need is the ability to comment on K2/EasyBlog item A and have the tags get pulled in to the activity stream along with the link and image.]

3) If another user comments on that item on the EasySocial activity stream, the comment should be entered on the item's comments as well

4) User can "like" and "repost" a K2 or EasyBlog item from within the item itself (and not just from the activity stream) - thus User A can find a cool article from User B and repost it to User A's own profile, tagging the author to congratulate them.

5) Threaded comment replies (so User B can comment in reply to a comment entered by User A, and not just create a new comment on the stream)

6) Curation:

Finally, the other commenting functionality that I don't think I've seen in EasySocial or Komento is the ability for the user to "curate" content by saving K2 and EasyBlog items to a 'my favorites' list. As I understand it, the "Bookmark" function only saves an activity stream item, not a link to the content itself. It seems that JLike (in your applications store) may provide this functionality; so far I've been unable to get it working. Are you aware of any other solutions that do this? Is it something you plan to introduce in the future?

Thanks, guys - you know I think your products are tremendous!!

Best regards,
Cheryl
Hey Cheryl,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Do you mean you would like to show Komento comment system on Easyblog and K2 page?
If yes, you can check my screenshot here where is the setting located at.

The EasySocial comment system only available for Joomla article and Easyblog.

Here is what I am trying to accomplish - can this be done via EasySocial comments? Komento?

1) User can comment in K2 or EasyBlog articles, or on EasySocial activity stream

Komento can show the comment system on K2 and Easyblog article page, but the Easysocial activity stream only can use Easysocial comment system to comment it.

2) When user comments in either a K2 or EasyBlog item, an entry is made on the activity stream, with a link back to the item.

If you using Komento, you have to install this app into your Easysocial backend, so when you add new comment or like the comment, it will generate a stream in Easysocial.

2a) Ideally, this activity stream item should include the item's primary image, and also its tags.

[I've tried your new Articles Stream plugin - I found that it grabs the tags but did not grab the item itself. Currently only Komento app can achieve this which i described at above.

3) If another user comments on that item on the EasySocial activity stream, the comment should be entered on the item's comments as well

May i know which item you referring? Is it Easysocial stream item when new Joomla article published on the site?
If yes, it will associated with the comment when the user post new comment in the Joomla article page or Easysocial stream item for Joomla article.

4) User can "like" and "repost" a K2 or EasyBlog item from within the item itself (and not just from the activity stream) - thus User A can find a cool article from User B and repost it to User A's own profile, tagging the author to congratulate them.

Do you mean you unable to tagging the author when you trying to report his stream item on dashboard?
If yes, the name tagging is only available for your friend, but when you repost the stream, it will actually show the stream author name on your repost stream.

5) Threaded comment replies (so User B can comment in reply to a comment entered by User A, and not just create a new comment on the stream)

Are you referring Komento or Easysocial comment system?

6) Curation:

Finally, the other commenting functionality that I don't think I've seen in EasySocial or Komento is the ability for the user to "curate" content by saving K2 and EasyBlog items to a 'my favorites' list. Currently we do not have plan for this, perhaps you can submit a new feature request (select "Easysocial - Feature request" category) regarding this into our forums so we will see if a lot of user request this feature as well, we will definitely consider this.
