It appears that new installations of ES override the cron.php GoDaddy customers edit for "site". Is there a mechanism for editing this file such as we follow with template changes that will protect the file from overrides during new installations?
Hello Eileen,

Hm, yeah you are right. This could be problematic for users who are upgrading their site. Unfortunately there's no work around for this currently and you would probably want to place this file somewhere at your root directory?

In the US there's an expression "duh" which means of course just move it somewhere else as it's not called by any script in ES it's only called by the Cron and we give it the directory location! Thanks Mark you're very courteous in the midst of lunacy sometimes...

that works
