I'm trying to get cron to work but not having it fixed. My situation is that i have all content on my site set to REGISTERED to keep other people away. So that my also be the problem for cron not to work is that correct?
Do you have work around so cron can still work?
Regards Ivo
Hm, this is unfortunately not going to work. Is there a way where you can add an exception for the localhost to be able to access the site? If you are, then wget would actually work on your site.

How are you restricting the access? Via a plugin or through the web server?

Hm, I think you probably need to perform a work around for this since it's not going to be possible to restrict the access by sessions. I would suggest whitelisting the localhost or server's IP to allow it access via cron.
