Hi,
I really appreciate the support that you have been able to provide me so far ...... I am a newbie to all of this and on a very steep learning curve!

I am hoping that you will be able to provide me with some guidance on setting up Cron Jobs for EasySocial.

My understanding (although you may correct me) is that I should set up cron jobs for the processing of email notifications and the pushing of files through to Amazon S3. Is this correct?

Unfortunately I do not have a development background and I am unsure of what to add in the Cron Job command line. Is this something you are able to help me with?

Many thanks

Steve
Thank you so much Mark ...... all looks like it is working well

Hello Steven,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply. You will first need to consult with your hosting provider and ask them for the "absolute" path to "wget" and ask them if it's possible for you to create a cronjob via your control panel. If you have the absolute path, and your control panel allows creating cronjob, pass the access to us here and we'll set it up for you

Hi Mark

No need to apologise for the delay. Your support is amazing.

My Hosting Provider is Hostgator. When I asked your question, they referred me to:
https://support.hostgator.com/articles/hosting-guide/lets-get-started/server-path-absolute-path

I have also included cPanel access details for you. I hope this provides what you need.

Once again, thanks for your support ........ it is greatly appreciated + it is helping me along my steep learning curve

Hello Steven McLean,

Thanks for understand You provided that access is very helpful, i have help you setup your cronjob successfully, it will automatically run every 5 minute process the cron command.

/usr/bin/wget -O /dev/null "http://icultivate.net/index.php?option=com_easysocial&cron=true"

Can you try Amazon and see is it can store any image file when you upload image file from EasySocial?
If the data don't have exist from your Amazon storage device, can you provide us with your Amazon account so we can help you check on this? Please advise.

Hi Arlex

You guys are amazing! Image files are now in my S3 account. So looks like the Cron Job is working ....... thank you.

However, there still is problem ......... when the cron job runs, images are lost from the front end + previously existing avatars and gallery images have also disappeared from the front end.

Once again, appreciate your help with this.

thanks

Steve

Sorry, one other question, can I expect that all files (not just images) saved to Easy Social will also be moved to Amazon S3. For example, if someone uploads a PDF or movie file into a group.

Hi Mark

yes .... problem still exists. Images are moving into the S3 bucket, but when that occurs, they disappear from the website.

Appreciate your help.

thanks
