I have just upgraded from ver 3 to latest version of Easyblog (5).
I have to say that new look of Easy blog does not work well on our site!
However that is something I need to work on.
The problem is I am trying to archive old posts
When I select archive against one or more posts I get the following message
Catchable fatal error: Argument 1 passed to plgFinderEasyBlog::index() must be an instance of FinderIndexerResult, instance of stdClass given, called in /homepages/11/d258010929/htdocs/joomla3/administrator/components/com_finder/helpers/indexer/adapter.php on line 330 and defined in /homepages/11/d258010929/htdocs/joomla3/plugins/finder/easyblog/easyblog.php on line 157

Any ideas?
Can you provide us with your joomla backend and FTP access at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so we can better have a check?

Also provide us which page you archive the post on your site.

Hi Arlex,
Archiving is working now. Thank you.

A couple of questions
1. What was the problem?
2. I can't see how to archive by date ie Archive anything before 31st Jan 2014?
3. Why did you have to disable the smart search plugin? (not sure what this does)

Kind regards
David

Hey David,

You're welcome, I have re-check again, it seems work fine even I enabled back smart search plugin.

Actually that this plugins task is, it will index all of your blog post then your site user can able to search these blog post through the search engine on your site.

2. I can't see how to archive by date ie Archive anything before 31st Jan 2014?

Can you give me that page URL which you referring?

Dear Arlex,

We have many blog posts per day that include at least one photo (we have set the max size to 100kb), so these posts use a significant amount of space that we need to take into consideration. We searched in your documentation in order to find out how the archive works and where we can archive those blog posts in order to save space in our host server, but we did not find such an article. Please provide us with one if you have in order to see what we can do with this space occupied.

Regards,

Hey Phivos,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Currently the Easyblog archive feature is not for save space from your database, when you archive the post from your site, these archive post will not appear on your blog listing page.

By the way, It would be best if you can start a new thread regarding with your question so that we can easy to manage your post.

Dear Arlex,

Thanks for your reply. We will have in mind to open a new thread for every new question. So, there is no way to archive the blog articles to Amazon S3 or somewhere else?

You're welcome Phivos.

Yes, currently we do not have any remote storage feature available in current version yet.

I would be best if you can submit a feature request regarding this in our voice page -> http://stackideas.com/voices/easyblog, so everyone else could vote for it, the more people request on this, and we will priority consider it.

But currently I am not really sure Amazon S3 can store database table or not, I only know as long as that is the file attachment, image, file, video and etc, these all can upload to Amazon S3.
