Creating anouncement for „normal users“

Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to allow users to create anouncements ..... not only for administrators of the page?

Actually, announcement app is also available for groups. Since you didn't use pages, there is no reason to turn on that. By the way, your initial question is about pages, and that is why our conversation is pivoting towards pages.

Anyways, to set the announcement for all group's members, you can checkout this settings at: EasySocial > Groups > Categories > (Choose desired group category) > ACL > Announcements > Allow Announcements From = Any members as showin in the attached screenshot. By turning this option on, all group's members will have the ability to create announcements.

EasyDiscuss is a questions and answers component which is not suitable for announcement type of action.

Hi there,

Yes it is possible. Permission for creating announcements are based on page's category. Navigate to: EasySocial > Pages > Categories > (Choose desired category of the page) > ACL > Announcements > Allow Announcements From = Any members as showin in the attached screenshot.

thanks for your support. Right now we didn't activate "pages" within our community - does it mean we have to activate them in the settings?

Hi there,

Im not quite understand your inquiry. Do you mean activating pages within your community? You may do it so at: EasySocial > Settings > Pages > General > Enable Pages.

If this not the case, kindly explain more so we can understand you better.

Hi,

no problem at all. We are searching for a possibility to do a broadcast for 2-3 users of our community which are not administrators of the page. They are a kind of management team .....

Unfortunately, there is no available settings to do that. Currently, EasySocial only have these 2 options; admins only or all members, allowed to broadcast announcements. So, it is either making these users as admin or allowing all members to create announcements.

In this case - all users should be allowed to do broadcasts I have to use the pages settings in our community?

Hi,

no problem at all ...

Yes I did your advice in backend for the category ACL of pages. This means that I also have to activate pages in settings for Easysocial which we didn't had use until know.
All users then have the possibility to do an announcement on a special page the team has generated before using this feature.... is this the way you mean?
As we didn't use pages but groups - would this possibility for an anouncement also be possible using groups?
Or may be it would be better to do this in Easydiscuss - but there seems also no such a feature implemented.... or?

Hi,

thanks for your patience and great support! I will see what is the best option and how to deal with t in our community. As we just migrated from Woltlab Suite to Easydiscuss products we have to adapt our working behaviour, of course.
