Joomla 3.4.3. EasyBlog 5.0.16. PHP 5.4.42
Ordering by Created date seems to work as expected. However - ordering by Published date (Settings-> Layout -> General -> Ordering) sorts by Published Date all-right BUT the date that the blogs display is the Created Date.
I tested with several themes. Also, tried with different menu types. Single author in standalone and (Posts) - Frontage.

With menu type (Posts) Frontpage I did notice the "Post Date Source" drop down (Edit menu -> Posts -> Post Date Source). Selecting Published Date did not change posts from displaying the Created date. Although - in menu type (Posts) Frontpage in the Featured Tab - selecting Published Date from the "Post Date Source" drop down DID change the date to published for posts in the featured slider only.

Thank for your help.
Hey Keith,

This will be fixed in 5.0.17 as well. The settings to determine which date is used for display was there but it was using a wrong value. Hence, the date always pulls the "created" date.

After we release 5.0.17, just edit the menu item and set the date source again and you are good to go
