How do I create a new user/blogger, based on the user credentials already available in Joomla. Does this work with using the user ID from Joomla?
If I create a new user, based on user ID, name and email from the Joomla credentials, I run into the error, that this user already exists. Thus, how can I transfer such existing user to EasyBlog
thanks volker,
worked fine and I already found the issue

the reason that some of your users wasn't in the bloggers list is because their joomla group wasn't allowed to write blogs at all.
when you go to easyblog -> acl and then click on one of the groups (for example juge....) and set "write entry" to yes then all the users from that group perfectly show up in the list. I already did this now for this group and pfar....) so that you can see it works.

hope that helps and have a nice day

hey volker,
easyblog doesn't require you to duplicate or copy existing joomla users. the already present users can - based on your settings in the ACL section - already start writing a blog

if you run into a special problem here or need further assistance let us know and we'll gladly help you out.

Thank you. This helps. But still, if I want to create a new "Blogger", do I need to create a new one, or can I transfer a Joomla user to the Blogger definition?

hey volker,
in joomla you can only have one set of users, to be even more clear: you cannot create an easyblog blogger that is not a joomla user.
so when you say you want to transfer a joomla user to the blogger definition do you mean this area here: http://screencast.com/t/oG0rk9ukZh ?

by default you should already see all of your joomla users there, is this not the case at your end?

Indeed, I only see 3 users there ( 2 Super Users) and 1 user who has "management" rights. If I am not mistaken, I created this some months ago and I tend to remember that I had to use the Joomla ID to create/transfer these users into the blogger section.

that's odd and shouldn't be the case at all. I just worked on a site with thousands of users and manually adding everyone would be insane. but no worries, we'll get it sorted

can you provide us with your backend access and ftp details so that we can investigate this directly at your end?
you can enter these informations into the "site details" tab that you find below the box when you're writing a post here in our forum. informations entered there are only visible for the support team and not for the public.

hey volker,
thanks for the account data - unfortunately you created the account with "admin" instead of "super user" privileges and therefore I can only see this: http://screencast.com/t/7Iqie6o3

can you change it to super user so that I can debug it?

Thanks for the great support! I did not check the EasyBlog ACL setting and of course it makes sense to enable/disable users from showing up in the bloggers list.
Have a nice day/weekend,

Volker
