Hi,

I need to customize a theme for EasyBlog but am concerned that an update would overwrite included themes and wipe out my customizations. As a preferable solution, I would like to copy an existing theme and modify the copy under a custom name. I have copied a theme folder from components/com_easyblog/themes, renamed it, and uploaded it back onto the server. While the new theme appears in the theme list in the back-end of EasyBlog, when I click into the new theme, the config.ini and image.ini files aren't connecting. Looking through the documentation and forum, I was unable to find a process for doing this.

Is there a step-by-step for building a new theme for customization?

Thanks!
Hello Mark,

I'm interested customizing themes for easyBlog, but I couldn't find your recommendation page anymore http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/customizations/template-overriding.html each I try to access it, always drive to this page http://stackideas.com/docs

is there any way to me to read the documentation of templates overriding?

Regards,
Syamsul

Hello Izzan,

Thanks for your quick reply. It's okay, but could you please guide me generally how to override the EasyBlog templates?

Keenan

Hi Syamsul,

You can find the documentation here: http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/customizations/template-overridden . Hope this helps.

If you have anymore question, please create a new ticket and send it to us. Hopefully by creating a new ticket, we can minimize the confusion between both of us.

Have a nice day.

Hello Yasser,

Thanks for your answer. and so sorry for my very late feedback, I was unable to work well lately. But, unfortunately I've tried to follow the instruction on this article http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/customizations/template-overridden but it's not working.

Hi Syamsul,

May I know what is the file path that you want to override?

Hello Ezrul...,

I tested using wireframe themes, and according to the documentation above, I tried to override /components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/style/style.min.css file through this path /templates/mytemplate/html/com_easyblog/style/ But it still loads from the original path. Is there any suggestion?

Regards,
Syamsul.

Hi Syamsul,

It seems like there was a typo there from your reply above. It should be /templates/mytemplate/html/com_easyblog/styles/ folder.

Hello Ezrul, thanks for your fast reply. Yea typo has been matched, but it keeps loading the css from the original path. Is there any more suggestion?

Hi Syamsul,

By right it should be working fine. Have you try to clear the cache once you have made the change on the template file? Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can check on the issue directly?
