The creators could just then set their attendance status as "Not Going". The reason is because there are some special privileges that are assigned to the event creators.

Perhaps what you should do is to switch the ownership of the event from the back end to one of the super admins. Because you would still need to be able to manage that events ?

i have same case as Jeromy, some few people are collecting and adding events, no way for them to attend these all. So this is a really missing feature, to not add eventcreators immediately as eventattende. Event creators should be creators and have the right to manage their events. If they want to attend, they can attend, but they should not be added automatically.

Overall, if i add 20 events, some of them even not applicable, as in Jeromys example, it is not looking very inviting, if everybody can see, that one of the admins is not attending explicitly

@Jeromy: Some time ago Arlex was helping me out with a hack for this feature to archive. Maybe, this can help you till this may be possible in ES out of the box
