Hello. I'd like to create a Sign In menu similar to the one on Stackideas. I see the ES login module, but I'd like the functionality to where once the user is signed in, it changes the "Sign In" text to display their username (and also changes the drop-down [to 'Edit Profile' and 'Sign Out'])... pretty much identical to the one on this site. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks -- Philip
Hello Philip,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Unfortunately the SIgn In button we have now is built into our custom template. We do not have a module for this functionality Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response, Adelene. Can you recommend any alternatives which are similar to this setup? It seems to me like this is typical log-in functionality for websites. (And I assume you guys think that too seeing you implemented it on your own website ).

So what your going to need is to have the sign in menu item to be different than the one that displays your name+drop down menu. On the "Sign In" menu item your going to want to set the Access to guest and the one that displays your name to "Registered". This will still require a drop down menu extension/template to accomplish what you want.

Personally I'm a fan of MaxiMenu CK which allows you to insert modules and menu items into the drop down menu. The only issue after that is finding a module that displays your username. That shouldn't be too hard.

If you would like to go this route and have any issues, I can further instruct you on this.

Try the easysocial toolbar module, it's pretty much the same as the one on this site.
