Couple of Basic ED with Groups questions ;-)

I am pretty new to ED so please bare with me.

I am trying too understand how I could use Easy Discuss First & Foremost as a Group Discussion Component...

...as an extension to "Study Groups" as found here:

Easy Discuss interface in ED versus in a ES Group

With Easy Discuss and the Easy Discuss Group Application installed and active.
When I start a discussion in a “Group” for example here:

https://www.finalbug.net/groups-learn-post-production-socially-fcpx-and-more/groups/26-fcpx-not-pro/apps/26-discussions/create

I would have expected the interface to look as it does when I start a discussion here:
https://www.finalbug.net/discuss/ask

Please see the screen shots 1 & 2 is this normal?


Easy Discuss front page Layout Forum versus Group items

All of these items in the ED Toolbar:

Show Search Input

Forums

Show Recent
Show Tags
Show Categories
Show Users*
Show Badges
Show More Settings*
Show Sign-in Button*

Relate to activities in the ED forum and not ED Group disscusions!
The stared items being exceptions, applying to more general stuff.

When I go here:

Are these ED forum badges or do they also apply to ED Group discusions?

All relate to ED Forum discussions and can not/do not relate to ED Group Discussions?


Using both the "EasyDiscuss - Ask Module and little blue "Ask a question button"

Will allow me to post a question in the "normal" forum and not a discussion group?

Even when for eg I am on the group page as in screen shot 5!?!

Using the Applications drop down menu on the “videos” page

Going from here:

Based on what your screenshot, it seems that you are using 'Discussion' apps instead of 'EasyDiscuss' apps

Easy Discuss front page Layout Forum versus Group items

Those badges will also apply to ES group, you are required to discover them first, on your Backend>Achievement

Yes it will post on normal forums

Honestly, i am bit lost here actually. can you explain steps on how to replicate this.

By the way, currently, i cant access your frontend using given access credentials.

Ok I think I am getting this.
I have the following applications installed please see screen shot 1&2.

Basic ED editor linked to ED discussion

On all three pages underneath the group photo I see: Members Videos Discussions

The “Discussions” here is related to the Discussions 2.0.122 App which lets me post with the basic ED Editor to a ED Group?

I also have the drop down applications menu and have both the Discussions 2.0.122 App and the EasyDiscuss Group (v2.0.3) App.

The “Discussions” here is related to the Discussions 2.0.122 App which lets me post with the basic ED Editor to a ED Group
And
The “Discussions” here is related to the EasyDiscuss Group (v2.0.3) App and lets me post with the extended ED Editor to a ED Group

If I turn off Discussions 2.0.122 App in the back end then the following happens

1) It disappears from the application menu on the videos page
2) On all three pages underneath the group cover photo I now ONLY see: Members Videos

Now what I am wondering is if it possible now have the:
EasyDiscuss Group (v2.0.3) also display in the space under the group cover photo.
Basically there where you see the Members and Videos App?

I hope this makes sense and I am sorry that my explanation is so round about.

Basic ED editor linked to ED discussion

Use 'EasyDiscuss' as its elements in order for you to post as EasyDiscuss(on frontend => EasyDiscuss) as shown http://take.ms/4ofQy

By the way, these two is totally different as 'Discussion' with 'Discussion' elements are built-in discussion and not related to EasyDiscuss and that why it use basic editor only. 'EasyDiscuss' with 'EasyDiscuss' element is belong to Easydiscuss.

Yes it will shown you built-in discussion and it is not possible to add those discussion created on EasyDiscuss on that view(screenshot3)

Ok and on a ED menu page there is no way to post a discussion to a group?
Even if I am on the ED menu/Group menu?

No it is. You only can post on EasyDiscuss' discussion on ES group by using the group itself only. Thanks for your understanding
