Hello,

I noticed inconsistencies in counting hits for Groups, Pages and Events according to the entry page.

I did tests using a vpn to vary the IP address, and creating many Groups/Pages/Events.
And by observing the "hits" column of the "_social_clusters" table.

# For Events, here is the only page that is taken into account in the calculation :
Timeline
All other pages never enter the calculation.

# For Groups, here are the only two pages that are taken into account in the calculation :
Timeline
About

All other pages are never taken into account.

# For Pages, here are the pages that are taken into account in the calculation :
Timeline
About
EasyBlog Page App
Followers
Polls
Reviews App
Only these two pages are never counted :
Albums
Videos

The counting system should therefore be harmonized.
And probably take into account each page of the different clusters, because the origin of the traffic is various.

Thank you,
Philippe
Thanks for the input on this Philippe. Logging this issue internally and we'll check as we are preparing for a release of 2.1.10 tomorrow

Thank you Mark !

I tested. All applications are counted for the Hits of Events, Groups and Pages.

Except curiously the Albums application of Events, Groups and Pages.
/albums

Hi there,

I have tested this locally and it is working as it should. The hit count for page/event/group will get updated when viewing album and the album hit will be increased as well. Perhaps, you have visited the page/event/group prior visiting the album. So, the count for page/event/group will not be increased when viewing album page.

Thanks and please advise.

Thank you for response.

Here is how I proceed to test :

1. I create a Group from the back-end
2. In phpMyAdmin, in the _social_clusters table, I look at the line corresponding to this new Group. The value Hits is 0.
3. I go directly to the Albums page of this Group (without ever have visiting any link from the Group before).
4. I look in phpMyAdmin, the value Hits is always 0.
5. To confirm, I use the site https://hide.me/en/proxy to have another ip address each time.
6. The Hits value is still 0.
7. I click on another item in the navigation menu (Videos for example).
8. The value Hits goes to 1.

I noticed that the Hits value increased by 1 (for a new IP), only with the URL of a specific Album.
For example : domain.com/groups/42-groupname/albums/964-album

The root url of the Albums page is never taken into account in Hits.
For example : domain.com/groups/42-groupname/albums

The same thing happens for Pages and Events.

3. I go directly to the Albums page of this Group (without ever have visiting any link from the Group before).

I am just wondering how did you manage to access the albums page if you have not created any albums for the group yet?

Ah it's very simple

After creating the Group from the back-end, I go to the front-end in the Groups listing.
Without opening it, I copy the created Group link. In a new browser tab, I paste this link and add /albums.
Which gives : domain.com/groups/6-groupname/albums

Where I find my Cover Photo.

Hi there,

I have tried to replicate this on my end and seems like i can replicate them on my end as those hits do not increased if he view /album sections only.

I have logged this issues internally and will included them on our next release version.
