Hi.
I am in the process of moving over from JomSocial to EasySocial.
I've installed the SimBunch vanity extension as I want users to have a nice URL. I also use sh404SEF.
However, when I try to view, for example, http://www.u-read.net/waveyuk, I get a too many redirects message (this from google chrome)

The webpage at http://www.u-read.net/waveyuk has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

How do I make EasySocial and sh404 play nicely?
Dave
Hi,

Sorry for the late reply.

This is because you have the menu item #311 "Login Layout" set to only "not logged in" access. I've set it to public for you and the links are now loading properly.

You won't have to worry about the login layout page being viewed by logged in user as EasySocial automatically redirects them to dashboard if a logged in user visits the login layout page.

Hi,

It seems like the redirection happens before it even hits EasySocial, which means the redirection could be anything before Joomla loads EasySocial (from htaccess to sh404).

Could you provide me a direct FTP access because with OseFileMan, I am not able to view the htaccess.

HI Jason.
I've put the FTP details in below. Hope this helps (I've looked at the htaccess file but can't spot anything obvious, but then again, I am not that good with linux!)
Thanks
Dave

Any ideas on this yet. I am really struggling to get the site back up and running with the social aspect.
Thanks

Hi,

Could you advise what SimBunch is? I am afraid there might be a conflict on that because EasySocial was not executed at all in the redirection loop. This means the redirection loop is actually not coming from EasySocial as it happens before the execution reaches EasySocial's code.

Can you try clearing the url links for EasySocial only (option=com_easysocial) in SH404 and try again?

Hi.
SimBunch ProfileURL is an add-on app you advertise in your Apps Directory (http://stackideas.com/apps) which " allows your EasySocial users to customize their profile, exactly like how it's done on Facebook" (see http://stackideas.com/apps/item/3-profileurl).
As it was advertised in your apps directory, I assumed it was an app StackIdeas had approved to work with EasySocial.
I've tried clearing down the sh404 URL links several times but to no effect (I've gone so far as to completely purge the URL cache).

I was going to try to uninstall the Profile URL app from EasySocial but it's telling me I can't as it's a core app!?! How on earth can I prevent it being a core app, then uninstall it if it's the thing causing the issue?

Hi,

It seems like the link http://www.u-read.net/waveyuk is now loadable.

Other than clearing the sh404 urls, is there any changes that you've done?

Regarding the app of Profile URL, it is actually the responsibility of the app author to define if their app can be uninstalled or not, and for this case, it seems like it is their app's issue. We will bring this up to the author of the app (as we have another party handling the app).

I can help you remove the app from EasySocial if you'd like.

Hi Jason.
The link started working after I disabled the ProfileURL app, but it still won't let me uninstall it from EasySocial, stating it's a core app and cannot be uninstalled.
Whether it's related or not, I don't know, but some URL's are still causing 403 errors, for example, http://www.u-read.net/dashboard and http://www.u-read.net/app. If you could advise firstly how I can remove the ProfileURL app (which is obvisouly broken, and I will also take this up with SimBunch), and why the dashboard isn't working, I'd be grateful, or if you wish to come into the back-end admin part of my site to remove/fix the issues I am having, please feel free.
Thanks
Dave

Hi,

I've set the app to be uninstall-able. You should be able to now uninstall that app.

Hi Jason.
Thanks, I've uninstalled it (could you let me know how you did that in case it ever happens again).
However..
I'm still getting 403 errors on many of the pages as mentioned previously, like /dashboard, /apps, /badges etc
And I have again cleared the entire URL cache in sh404, and cleared the cache on my browser (even installed Safari for Windows to ensure I had a brand new, fresh browser to test on). I cannot figure out why this would be happening.

Hi Jason.
Just wondered if you have had a chance to consider why I am still getting the 403 errors I am receiving. I've had a few people email me now asking why they can't use the site, so would like to be able to restore normal operation and allow people to use EasySocial.
Thanks
