I've purchased EasySocial and have been trying it out on a development site and really like it. I'm new to Joomla! so its a bit of a learning curve.

On my real website I'm currently running a phpBB forum with Wordpress for articles but they are not bridged. I was going to use alterbrains phpBB bridge in a move over to Joomla! and EasySocial but am now wondering if it is possible to convert my phpBB forum into EasyDiscuss? I've a number of custom profile fields set up in my phpBB forum that would need to come across and wonder if this is possible?

Thank you
Hey Colette,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a public holiday for us here.

Currently we do not have a migrator for phpBB forum to EasyDiscuss, but from what I see our customer previous response regarding this similar question on our forum, they trying to migrate to Kunena forum first, if everything migrated correctly, then only migrate over to Easydiscuss extension.

Because we do have Kunena migrator from Easydiscuss, maybe you can try this way and see how it goes.

But remember do it on your development site first.

That's no problem, hope you had a nice break

I couldn't see the previous replies from your other customers who had similar questions. I wonder how they got on and if they had custom profile fields they needed to bring across and if it was successful?

Kunena, I hadn't come across them before and will look into it. Bit of a round about way to go but at least there's an option, thank you for the suggestion.

Will certainly work using a development site to test the options

Thanks,
Colette

Thanks for understanding Colette.

Oh, it seems like those thread is under private so other user unable to view it.
And when I read again, it seems like there do not have mention about the custom profile fields, maybe they main goal is just focus on the discussion post.

You're welcome, hope this alternative way can help you much here.

Yes I think you can evaluate these forums like Kuena, CJForum and EasyDiscuss to replace phpBB and have SSO singels login solution. Check also this one https://www.corejoomla.com/forum.html that is good if you have a more professional forum type. It also have integration support for EasySocial integration.
