I think allowing the admin to choose the default tab on Conversekit is a good thing - The only problem, I see, is that if your default tab is "contacts" and you have messages waiting, while the window is closed (indicated by the red number) - maybe that should always open as "chats"? or have the Red Number show inside the Conversekit window as well?

so, default is X unless conversations are waiting then "chats" - make sense?

Otherwise I don't think it's intuitive enough for users...

Thoughts?
I strongly disagree with this because you are making the behavior of the chat button unpredictable. It would confuse users because they wouldn't know the logics behind it.

Well I think the issue is still valid - the solution is the variable. I think by adding a red number on the "chat" tab inside the conversekit window would also address this...look at FB chat for instance, their "chat" is only accessed by clicking on the "contact" that has a message notification on it..

you can access just "chats" on the ES toolbar (like fb messages) - I think the confusing part is that they both can be accessed in conversekit..

Adding a counter in the tab would make sense me thinks but not having the button to load either contacts / chats because that would just complicate stuffs.
