The bbcode parser for conversations keeps replacing times formatted as 8:10 for example, with emoticons. 8:10pm will get you a kiss emoticon smack bang in the middle of the time.
I also noticed that email addresses sometimes get replaced by the mention system. Screenshots attached.

The emoticon replacing the 8:10 is actually a default behavior and there's nothing can be done. This is the same as Skype as if you type a:p , you will also get a smiley. There's no real way to solve this unless smileys are not converted through characters.

As for the mentions, I am not too sure how to actually reproduce this. What particular text did you enter?

Ah I see Mark, no problem then.

Hmm the email is in the screeny with @yahoo.com but it doesn't reproduce for me either so no idea why it happened, just thought I would mention it along with the smiley thing.
