Is it possible to add a class for is-unread in the conversation? For several messages, you can not see if you have already read it.

A class for active (is-active) already exists.
And in toolbar-conversation too please

I too am interested in this. P.S. I'm guessing this should go in the featured request section?

I had it there. But had not received an answer. And 1.4 had it already. So it was apparently forgotten to implement. So you can see it as a mistake: D.

And by the way. As long as there are such things (also with the search) I can not show the site to any user publicly.

Indeed, just confirmed this. Would be handy to have this back for making unread messages easier to find.

I will move this under the feature requests area so that it does not disrupt our support flow

Hi Mark... But "mark as unread" works well.

Why not the same for all unread messages and unread answers?

And Notification shows yes synonymous already that unread messages are present.

I have already logged a ticket internally so 2.0.8 should include these as well.

Hm, I just tested this internally and it does actually have an is-unread class, http://take.ms/SSbFV . Am I missing anything here?

This you only have when you get a new message. Not when replied. So from the third message, etc.

So if someone writes the first time.

I took a picture of you. I have 5 unread messages and only one is marked as unread.

Only the first message is marked as unread. But not when someone without answer writes a second, third, etc. Or when someone responds.

At first only the unread messages were shown. The more users wrote, then suddenly more than 5 messages were seen.

Ok ... See photo.

5 people have written a message to me as you can see in the picture.

Only "kitan" wrote to me for the first time. This message is also marked unread.

The other 4 messages I have not read yet. But are marked as read.

Above as a notification you also see that I have 5 new messages.

Summary:

5 new messages. No reading. But only one is marked as unread.

The same also on the side of the conversations.

I tested again today and found the following.

If user A writes to user B for the first time, this message is marked unread at user B. If User B reads this message, it is marked as read.

So far everything is good.

If User B does not respond to this message and User A writes User B another message, the message appears at the top, but it is not marked as unread to User B.

So it happens that the notification indicates that 5 new messages exist, but not all 5 are marked as unread.

Hi Chris,

If user A writes to user B for the first time, this message is marked unread at user B. If User B reads this message, it is marked as read.

So far everything is good.

If User B does not respond to this message and User A writes User B another message, the message appears at the top, but it is not marked as unread to User B.

So it happens that the notification indicates that 5 new messages exist, but not all 5 are marked as unread.

Regarding the above, do you mean, when userB read the message (the message marked as read) and userB stay on the conversation page. Now, User A write another message to User B. This time toolbar show there is new message notification, but in the conversation listing at the left panel, there is no un-read class added to that particular conversation in the listing?

Correct me if Im wrong but if possible, maybe you can capture a video so that I can understand better of this issue.
Please advise.

Hi Sam,

no that has nothing to do with the conversation page.

I mean it already as I wrote it above.

Just test it. Instructions:

Create 2 new profiles. A profile User-A and a profile User-B.

Then let User-A write a message to User-B.

User-B is supposed to view / read this message, but does not respond to it. !!!

Then User-A should write another message to User-B.

And then you'll see that the 2nd message from User-A is not marked as unread at User-B.

Making a video of it would be too complicated. But as you see above in my photo, I have in the toolbar 5 messages. All 5 messages are still unread. But only one is marked as unread.

I made a video on your official demo page.

Description:

1. User-Demo writes User-Michelle a message.

2.User- Michelle see this message as unread, opens it, and reads it. But do not answer!!!!

3. Demo writes Michelle a second message.

4. Michelle looks in the toolbar there is a new message arrived. Opens the toolbar, but the second message is not marked as unread.

Hope this was clear enough. It can not be explained even more clearly. Only the first Message is marked as unread...

Hi Arlex,

If you make it as above in the video, the error actually always occurs.

Nice to read that you will take care of it.
