Hi everybody,
I recently had my Joomla site upgraded to version 3.4. and after that Easyblog upgraded. Now the latest blogs module remains empty: please see attachment.
I tried every possible kind of configuration in the back end which some crazy results (like damaging the template) so that I decided to unpublish the module. But yet it is there. And still empty.
What would I have to do in order to get the module to work like on the screenshot only showing the items?
Hey Dirk,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hey Dirk,

There's actually a difference between "Latest Post" module and "Latest Blogs" module. The previous "Latest Post" module was for EasyBlog 3.9 while the later is for EasyBlog 5

I have re-configured the module for you now.

Hi Mark,
Thankl you very much for helping.
Now - hopefully - one last question: how can I make the latest blog module the other ones right beside it. They show a simple bulleted list, the latestblog module show huge text, that does not really fit. I checked on backend all possible configurations by trial and error since I am unaware how to do it right but nothing worked (only one configuration made it worse). The documentation on this site did not help either, so may I ask you to explain what to do? Thank you very much in advance!

Hey Dirk,

There's actually no documentation for this since different user's needs to customize their layouts differently? You need to customize the theme file of the module in /modules/mod_easybloglatestblogs/tmpl/default_item.php

Hi Mark,
"There's actually no documentation for this since different user's needs to customize their layouts differently?" Would that not be a reason for a documentation? Thanks for the advice anyway. I forward it to a friend, I have not the slightest clue what to do with this file.

Hm, we are talking about designing / customizing the layout and everyone's need is different. You might want them in a bullet point, while some others doesn't or some even wants it on a table layout. How would we write such documentations?

Yes, you are right, everyone has his own ideas about the looks of his or her website ... but I thought that was the reason for making components customizable? When that is not configurable in the backend it would be nice to have some kind of clue how to do it.
When I take a look at the file you mention I do not even see the layout, opened it with Kompozer, didn't help, crosschecked it with the older version, that matched my layout, didn't help, surfed around the net, watching a couple of Easyblog films on Youtube, non of them covered the module configuration, googled the issue and found half a dozen websites tags indicating thay may, but they did not help. So in the end I spent a couple of hours for a clue how to change the big bold to small text (about the bullets, I don't care, it's just the size that kind of damages the template's layout. I have not seen any other Easyblog "latest blogs module" with such huge font on any site, so I guess everyone must have been able to change the fontsize - besides me) and still have not got it done, call myself stupid being unable to fix such a little thing, but that does not help either.
Anyway thanks for all your support and do not forget the name of your blog component ... as they say in Latin "Nomen est Omen"

Hey Dirk,

Most of these are actually already configurable in the settings itself. If you want to style it to look / match exactly as other modules on the site, they can't be made configurable. In order to style it to look like the rest of your modules, you need to convert the HTML codes to be a simple list html code.
