Hi,

I like the composer for my website members. The composer is simple and templates are a good idea. But for complex posts I need to use the JCE editor. So how can I set it up so that members creating and editing a post will use the built-in composer while editors logging into the back end can use JCE editor only?

Rene
Hey renejdm,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

Unfortunately that was not possible.

If you create this post using composer, whoever edit this post, it will show composer editor as well is because the new composer editor stores a whole load of meta data in the content itself, it do not know how to render the block content in Joomla default editor.

Hi Arlex,

I do not think that my message was clear. Let me try to explain.

In the settings in the back end I can choose a different editor. There are a few choices - composer, jce, etc.

If I change the settings to composer then when I create a blog I am using the composer with blocks.

If I change the settings to jce then when I create a blog I am using the jce editor.

So now I have 2 blogs: one created with jce and one created with the composer. The back end settings are now set to jce editor.

When I go to edit the blog that I first created with composer, I can edit the blog with composer even though the jce editor is selected in the back end. This is good. The system is smart enough to know what editor I first used to create the blog and it presents me with that editor.

So far everything is good.

So changing the editor only requires a setting in the back end.

Now what I want to do is to have anyone creating blogs from the front end to use the composer and anyone creating a blog from the back end to use JCE. This should be easy because it is just a switch.

The reason I want to do this is because the composer is just not powerful enough to create some of the blogs that I currently have on my website. But it is simple enough for my users.

Regards,

Rene

Thanks for getting back to us quickly and took your time to described again with your current requirement.

Unfortunately that was not possible to achieve this.

Unless admin user edit their user profile set the default editor to use `JCE-editor` from the user profile settings which suppose to create blog from backend. You can check my attached screenshot below.
