Are there any web developers in the community?
I am a web designer and I am willing to donate some of my time to helping the community with design related questions. I mostly do graphics work, but dabble in php and css. (example: if you need custom buttons or badges I am your guy.)
There are several small extensions for EasySocial that I would like to make, but my coding skills are lacking at best. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate myself a 3 at best.
If there are any other members of the community that are coders and willing to donate some time to expanding the functionality of EasySocial let me know.
Nice idea By the way, are you "Loz" from Twitter that has been experiencing issues with Techjoomla? Is everything all sorted out already?

I am, and I will make sure I tag you in my tweet back to them once I have had a chance to check everything.
There are other 'issues' with their code. (read other missing features). I am going through today and checking everything to make sure that none of it is my fault before downloading the gateway from them.

And in case you missed it, I am also trying to work with them and corejoomla on a conflict that happens between Community Answers, EasySocial, and JBolo. The trouble being that TechJoomla never answers their support questions until you complain in a public place, then they are all too willing to help you out just to shut you up.

Hello,

Hm, I will try to get in touch with their CEO and notify them about this. I do actually have a skype chat with their team as we are collaborating on the mobile app for EasySocial but if their support is that horrible, it's pretty scary

Hi Loz !

This is Parth from Techjoomla & i would like to work with you in sorting out any issues you face.. I am sorry for the issues over the ES points gateway.. I hope its resolved now.. If you have any issues, please feel free to contact me direct on email or Skype. I have DMd you my details on twitter.

Its not that we will give support once you post in Public places . Generally, Tickets we try and sort out in 24 hours (other than weekends) . We only saw the ticket you had posted after i had asked you to on twitter. Where had you posted before that we have not responded ? Would be great if you can tell us so we can resolve any issues in our support process..

Note that if you had posted in our Forums ( they are meant for community support not developer support). For direct developer support, its best to send us a ticket.

This is probably not the best place to have this conversation.
But tickets have been filled out in the past, and posts have gone unanswered in your forum. Yes, I understand your forum is for community support, but lets face it, if you want to have a good image in the joomla community, you probably want to check your forums and answer questions there at least twice a week.

Anyways, there is a conflict between CJlib and Jbolo. I am pretty sure the issue is in CJLib.
If you have Community Answers installed Jbolo stops displaying msgs.

My solution to this problem was to stop using both extensions.
I use JChatSocial now for my chat bars (when I use chat bars).
and I will be switching to EasyDiscuss for my questions and answers solution, if I ever find the need for that again.

As far as TechJoomla goes, I like SocialAds. It works wonderfully with JomSocial.
Unfortunately I have seen the light, and see that EasySocial has the potential to be far superior to JomSocial.
That is in fact part of why I created this thread. If we (the community here) can port some of the JomSocial extensions into EasySocial extensions, I think JomSocial will just fade away into nothingness.
I am grateful that TechJoomla (I assume it is a multi-person team) has taken the time to start porting TJ extensions to EasySocial. For the most part you have done an extraordinary job, from what I can see. But now that I KNOW there is (or at least has been) and issue with you listing features that you simply do not have, I will think long and hard before buying any of your extensions again. I am going to have to buy Broadcast in the near future, and I have to say, I am worried about what issues I may run into.

All of that aside, I just signed up for PHP and MySql classes so that I can add development to my list of abilities.
My first project is an external profile link app for EasySocial. wish me luck.

Thanks for sharing this Loz, I think Parth and their team are working around the clock building more integrations with EasySocial

Hi,

Yes possibly not the best place but it would be good to sort this out.

1. We tried to find forum posts & tickets from you & did not find any in this relation. Can you please point me the ones concerned ? Atleast under your current users

2. Regarding the Forum, we do plan to merge both because we have realized that having 2 media is a problem as even if say clearly its community support, users still expect it & it leads to unnecessary issues. We make sure all tickets are answered. In case of forum posts we try to answer once or twice a week as of now.. But once we merge it should take care of this..

3. Regarding jBolo, the conflict could have been solved easily by our support. But i have not found any tickets from your current user for this. Please email me any other users you might have on our site so i can find if this is a problem ( tickets/posts not being found) . Thanks for the tip about CJLib.. i will reach out to them & see if we can get a final solution out..

4. The SocialAds JomSocial integration is very mature & stable.. However the EasySocial one is comparatively new. However we have made sure we have worked with EasySocial to achieve a tight integration and as of now it does most of what the JS integration does. At Techjoomla we are making sure we are offering great EasySocial integrations. It wont happen overnight.. but all our major products have EasySocial Integrations already and we are impoving them with every release..

5. Regarding Listing features we do not have.. Can you please tell us where this is ? You had emailed us about the ES points payment gateway which was a honest mistake & we have already made it good by sending you the payment gateway. Can you please let me know about where you have found issues like this ? We understand it leaves a bad taste in the mouth if something like this happens & we would like to fix this ASAP.

We love the way the StackIdeas team has built an awesome support culture & are working hard to catch up. We hope to please you as much as they do ! So please let me know !
