Dear Tech Support,

Even though I have disabled T&C in Settings/Comments, both the checkbox and link to T&C are still shown in posts and replies whenever the Comment button is clicked. Nevertheless, users will not need to check the box to post their comments. I have tried to comment out the relevant lines in the following files but nothing changed -
1) components/com_easydiscuss/themes/simplistic/post.reply.comment.form.php
2) components/com_easydiscuss/themes/simplistic/comment.form.ejs

Also, I would like to disable deletion of comments by users but don't seem to be able to find an option for that. Did I miss anything?

Your guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is actually a public day off for us here. Are you trying to disable the T&C in comments altogether? After making the changes in the settings, go to the back end of EasyDiscuss and click on the "Clear Cache" button. The reason is most likely that the T&C is still shown because the js are being cached.

Hi, Mark,

Happy national day! You should be taking a rest instead of working.

After clearing the cache (which I did yesterday already but didn't help), the checkbox and link for T&C are gone but my comments in the hacks showed up. I have now removed those lines altogether and cleared the cache again but the comments still remain.

Now that I know I have modified the correct files and it's the cache I need to deal with, I should be able to resolve that on my own but will let you know in case I need any additional help.

Good night!

One more thing, Mark... what about disabling delete Comments by users? Thanks again!

P.S. After clearing the cache in com_easydiscuss, my comments are now gone.

Hi there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

what about disabling delete Comments by users?

You can find the settings from your backend > easydiscuss > ACL > registered users > delete comments.
