Hi,

I have all the relevant boxes configured in both EasyBlog, EasyDiscuss and the EasyDiscuss Plugin, as can be seen from the attached screenshots. However, the two test comments on two blogs at the frontend to the site do not appear in the appropriate category within EasyDiscuss (If that indeed is how it is supposed to work).

This link takes you to one example of a comment made to a blog frontend on the site -https://imdren.com/index.php/blog/coronavirus-baby-boom-is-predicted-for-early-next-year

This link takes you to the page on EasyDiscuss where the comment is supposed to appear frontend (under the Category 'General Discussion') - https://imdren.com/index.php/forums

Has anybody any ideas what I am missing or have I misunderstood the integration concept between EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss?

Thanks in anticipation

Bill DAVIES
Based on what I see, you only left one more setting haven't configure it correctly from your backend > Easyblog > Setting > comment > integration > set to Easydiscuss , you can check my attached screenshot below.

How this integration work is, it will render the Easydiscuss reply form under your blog entry page while system will auto create this blog post into your forum page. In other word, whoever reply into this discussion either from the blog post page or discussion page, it will render the same reply.

Sorry Arlex,

Still doesn't work despite me changing the setting as you mentioned as can be seen from the attached screenshot, and additional comments I have made as can be seen by clicking on this link -https://imdren.com/index.php/blog/coronavirus-baby-boom-is-predicted-for-early-next-year

Any additional ideas?

So mean you would like to have show multiple comment system on blog entry page?

If that is the case, you have to enable this "Multiple comment system" setting (screenshot : https://monosnap.com/file/O9O3eMXy2y6PIDiIzi6hjEwZe41wW3 ).

If you only 1 comment system then you have to disable "Built-in Comment system" setting.

No Arlex I only want the one comment system and that is EasyDiscuss and the appropriate setting as you have mentioned has been set. That however is NOT the problem. The problem is that whoever adds a comment to the blog, neither the comment or the blog appear under the Category of General Discussion under the frontend of EasyDiscuss.

Go ahead and try yourself as I have enabled Guests to add comments. Fill out the comment form here -https://imdren.com/index.php/blog/overzealous-police-are-taking-the-lockdown-too-far

and then go and see if that comment has appeared on the frontend of EasyDiscuss by clicking here -https://imdren.com/index.php/forums

You will see that nothing will appear un the Category of General Discussions

Yes, I think you misunderstand how this integration work, let me explain further a little bit regarding this :

1. If you choose Easyblog built-in comment system, it will not show any interaction with Easydiscuss component.

2. If you choose Easydiscuss as your Easyblog comment system (screenshot : https://monosnap.com/file/bZuBX4IV7MsCiPDApYW5Njes1gBTOy ) , it will render this Easydiscuss reply form on blog entry page (screenshot : https://monosnap.com/file/cTTv697YPCfD2qh6Xc0fwbZrf7ZPAa )

3. In meanwhile, system will auto generated a discussion in Easydiscuss regarding this blog post. (screenshot : https://monosnap.com/file/lJztAsk58yNdu0YXG7Zagq91Ej8Nki )

4. About the map category part from the plugin currently only support for Joomla article, in other word, Easyblog blog post will be store into the category as what you selected from the plugin setting (screenshot : https://monosnap.com/file/kBL5mVSr1TIi8wcrB4ZNyFf9jj8I5v ).

5. So when the user submit a response under the blog post through that Easydiscuss reply form, this reply also will associated with Easydiscuss discussion post. (screenshot : https://monosnap.com/file/KrB7HxyArpy9HMPIHw5gxSpXoqT0sa )

Hope this explanation will help much you here.

Ah yes Arlex, all read and understood, and thank you for going into so much detail. The one thing is though, have look at the attached screenshot you sent me where EasyDiscuss is seen as the sole commenting system for EasyBlog. I am NOT getting that. There is no 'See Discussion' button which your screenshot clearly shows, which makes me believe that EasyBlog is not using EasyDiscuss as the comments system. My EasyBlog is NOT showing that comment section like yours in the screenshot I have attached.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Can you check again at my attached screenshot below and see whether is it configure same as my current setting?

If yes and it doesn't show it up, perhaps you can update your site backend and FTP access at https://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so we can better have a check?

Hm, that is strange indeed, because you did set the correct configuration setting on your site now.

Can you check again with your FTP user account? Because I suspect this FTP account do not have permission to access your site Joomla root folder, you can check my attached screenshot this is what I seeing now.

Hi Arlex,

I know you have been working on my site this morning as I can see you through the backend. Whatever you have done, it is now working. I have just received about 21 posts to be moderated which I have approved and are now clearly shown on the front and backends of the EasyDiscuss section having been 'sent' there from the appropriate articles in EasyBlogg

I also can now see a 'See Discussion' button at the end of each article in EasyBlog, so as far as I can see everything is working as it should, and whatever it is you have done in the past 30 minutes or so, seems to have done the trick.

Hey William,

Actually I did not do anything at yesterday, the reason why it display Easydiscuss reply form on blog entry page now is because you have approved those pending discussion from backend.

Then I re-check the code from the system, it seems like you have enable moderation post setting from Easydiscuss, which mean that when someone access one of your Easyblog new post, system will auto create this blog post as discussion in Easydiscuss, but this discussion post will under moderation base on what you have set, this is why it render the Easyblog comment system instead of Easydiscuss reply form because that blog entry post associate with that discussion post still under moderation.

Thank you Arlex for your reply which I now understand. The very strange thing about this is that I had NOT been working on the site at all over the weekend in case you decided to have a look at the backend. So no configuration settings were changed by me. I had not been at my computer for several hours and was sitting in another room when all of a sudden my iPhone went mad and 42 emails 'pinged' into my mailbox all at once. Every single one of them was an email detailing that a post had been made and required moderation. I should explain hat during the 'testing' phase of EasyDiscuss, I had three different email addresses configured to receive site posts, including moderation ones. That is why I had thought you had changed a setting at the backend of the site as I myself had done nothing.

For your information, the setting requiring moderation in EasyDiscuss was enabled as you rightly mention previously and it always has been. This was to prevent 'spammers' from hitting the frontend of the site, as has happened with me on other forums I have used, mainly Kunena. However, with Captcha enabled on EasyDiscuss and other settings enabled I am confident this won't happen with EasyDiscuss.

In any event the system works fine now as I wanted it to, so all is well frontend and backend.

Can I take this opportunity once again to thank you for your excellent assistance which as always is over and above the normal standard of customer service.

Thank you again Arlex, you are a star.

William
