Hi

I have just noticed that comments are not being shown on my easy blog.

I have all actions needed to enable comments turned on, in 'ACL', in 'Setting - comments' but still there is nothing on the blog page.

Can you take a look please and let me know why, I have included login details below.

Thanks
Hey Alex,

It seems like that was our bug, if you set this `Allow Modification Of Comment Setting` to NO, it will disable that comment by default.

I help you turn on that option, the comment form should appear now, we will fix this in next release version.

Hi

It would appear as this hasn't worked, I still do not have comments on my blog.

Can you suggest something else.

The access to my site has changed as I have a new server, but I am waiting for new details of how to give you access.

Can you suggest something i may be able to try in the meantime please

thanks

Hey Alex,

Got 3 possibility there :
#1. Try check backend > Easyblog > ACL > public/guest user group > comment tab > Post Comments - YES
#2. Try check backend > Easyblog > settings > comment > integration > build-in comment - yes
#3. Edit one of the post > Check there is it set `Allow comment` to YES

If everything is set to YES and it still not appear the comment form on your post, perhaps when you get your site access, we will continuous check again on this issue. (Provide us with your FTP as well.)

Hi

It would appear that the issue I am having with the update is also affecting the back end, I can only go to certain places within the back end, I cna go to backend > Easyblog > ACL > public/guest user group but I can't then get into the comment tab!

Can you have a look at this at the same time as looking at the update issue.

Site login details are in my account

Many thanks

Hi

So I still cannot seem to get the comments working on the site, everything you mention above is turned on.

Login details for the site, are as they were, I think the error you were having before is the user name (www) in putty needs to be put into the connection-data tab.

I had a different developer with the same issue, once the user name was put in then he could access no problem, please let me know if there are further issues.

I was hoping that you had some luck getting into my site?

Did you get time to give it a try?

Thanks

hey Alex,

I am sorry for the delay of this response, I already tried browse that private key into Putty configuration program but that was same.

Actually previously I add that private key into Pageant program so that no need manually browse that private key into Putty configuration program.

Keep us update what time you available for Teamviewer meeting so that I can help you check on this quickly.

Hi

I have got my IT man to turn back on the public access to the administrator side of the site.

So you can now enter using the details in my site login file.

Thanks Alex getting back to us and I can access in your site now.

I've checked in your site, it seems like you have turn off this option -> Allow Modification Of Comment Setting from backend > Easyblog > settings > composer tab , because this option when you turn off, which mean that all the post comment by default is disabled.

If you do not like your site blogger to change that `Allow comment` options from the composer, you can control from backend > Easyblog > ACL > select your user group > Change Comment Settings When Composing Blog Post -NO

Can you give it a try now, the comment form should be appear now.

Hi

Ok, so I have the above options set as they should be but the comments are not appearing on the blogs.

Within the post itself, the option to show comments is turned to NO - how can I have it set to YES as default?

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I've checked in your site, if you open the composer, you will see that `Allow Comment` already set as default. Even that user account do not under Superadmin user group.

Hi Arlex

Sorry but I don't quite understand, when any author try's to post a blog the show comment setting is always set to No.

How do I get it so it is set to Yes as default?

Hey Alex,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Can you provide us one of your site user account access which can replicate this `Show comment setting` is always set to NO? Because I tested in your site, it did show `Show comment` to YES by default when I trying to publish a new post.

Hi Arlex

You can log in using the details below

user name - test user
password - Multi888

As you can see form my screen shot, it is not even allowed to change comments on or off, but from the back end, you can edit the post and comments are always switched off. (2nd screenshot)

Thanks

Hey Alex,

Try download my attached file and replace into these following file location.

JoomlaFolder\administrator\components\com_easyblog\includes\post\post.php
JoomlaFolder\administrator\components\com_easyblog\themes\default\settings\general\general.php

Then put this following language string into -> JoomlaFolder\administrator\language\en-GB\en-GB.com_easyblog.ini

COM_EASYBLOG_SETTINGS_WORKFLOW_DEFAULT_ALLOW_COMMENT="Default Comment Option"
COM_EASYBLOG_SETTINGS_WORKFLOW_DEFAULT_ALLOW_COMMENT_DESC="If enabled, when a blogger creates a new blog entry the display on comment option is enabled by default"

After that go to backend > Easyblog > settings > general > default comment option - YES

Hi

I tried to do all of the above, but then I went and updated my blog version and everything failed!! I haven't been in to check if this is all there.

But

I was wondering if it would be easier and better for me to download and install Komento instead?

Hey Alex,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

I already manage help you updated to 5.0.30 version and help you replaced my above fix in your site, can you give it a check now?

I was wondering if it would be easier and better for me to download and install Komento instead?

As long as if the blog option `allow comment` is set to NO, the Komento form also will not appear on the blog entry page.
