Comments from members etc show up in the comment list in Komento and on articles in the backend of Joomla but are not showing in the front end. I'm not sure why they aren't showing as I haven't changed any settings lately.
Hey there,

I checked on your backend and frontend and it seems working fine for me as the Komento's comment did show up in the articles and blog post too.

May I know which blog post/article does not show Komento's comment so we can have a further checking?

The two most recent Komento comments from Peter Albert do not show up on the site altho they are listed in Komento in the backend. In fact none of the Komento comments in Joomla articles are showing up on the site as far as I can see.

I get a notice in an email account showing the new comment in full with a View Comment box which takes me to the page but does not show any comment. I've checked this on both computers and my mobile phone and none of these show a comment. I've restarted my modem, the router, the computer and cleared the cache of the browsers and even cleared the cache on Cloudflare but I still see no Komento Comments.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

The two most recent Komento comments from Peter Albert do not show up on the site altho they are listed in Komento in the backend. In fact none of the Komento comments in Joomla articles are showing up on the site as far as I can see.

I did checked last 2 comment Peter Albert added on your Joomla article page, it seems like it did appear for me, you can check my attached screenshot below.

May i know are you view this article as guest user or login user?

I get a notice in an email account showing the new comment in full with a View Comment box which takes me to the page but does not show any comment. I've checked this on both computers and my mobile phone and none of these show a comment. I've restarted my modem, the router, the computer and cleared the cache of the browsers and even cleared the cache on Cloudflare but I still see no Komento Comments.

is it can copy that link from your email and share into your next reply? Or you can forward your email to my email account arlex.wong@stackideas.com so I can better have a check on this.

Forgot to mention that even the Komento comment form does not appear on any page.

I have question regarding this, are you referring Joomla article page or Easyblog post page?

if you referring Easyblog post page, it seems like you have disabled this setting 'Allow Changing Comment Settings' http://take.ms/REULg , when you turn it off, system will disable allow comment for new post published on the site.

I already help you enabled it, but it seems like Komento form still doesn't appear on the blog post.

Can you update your correct FTP details so I can able to troubleshoot this?

this is what i hitting that error when i connect your FTP server :

Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity
Error: Could not connect to server

Both the standard Joomla article pages and the Easy Blog posts DO NOT show the blog form to make comments of any comments made.
I see your images but for some reason I cannot see none of that either as a guest of logged in. See Image attached. Below the blue box asking for comments there is no form or comments shown. This image is for Hike L39 where Albert left comment.

I would like everyone to see and read all comments and see the comment box. Everyone should be able to leave a comment but guests not registered will have to have the comment approved by admin. Registered members do not need posts moderated.

I was going through the settings for Komento to see if I could see any errors.
I recently added "guest" as a user so in "Requires Moderation: I added a checkmark for Guest.
Then I did something not so good: I entered the url to my cloudflare account in General/System CDN URL. That froze up Komento so now I can't access anything in Komento. Sorry about that.
I send an email to Arlex with ftp details to help out there.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

It okay, I've temporary remove that CDN url from your site Komento setting, now can access Komento backend now.

Based on what i checked, it seems like that komento form will appear in non-sef URL e.g.
[gist type="php"]
https://www.torontohiking.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=212:boyne-to-pine-rivers&catid=13:hikes
[/gist]

But it's not SEF URL https://www.torontohiking.com/boyne-to-pine-rivers.html , that is very strange.

Is it possible for you to set this `test@torontohiking.com` FTP user to have more privileges so I can modify that folder/file permission through FTP? Because i did tried to modify that file permission through FTP program (http://take.ms/eXTi0), then i hitting this :

Command: STOR configuration.php
Response: 553 Can't open that file: Permission denied

And when i trying to modify the setting from your site backend global configuration setting.
This is what i hitting :

Could not write to the configuration file

Do you remember what you configure or what extension/plugin you installed recently? Because i realised that peter can comment on your site at Aug 5, 2018, i suspect something break it recently.

My host support has fixed this issue:

First I noticed that the configuration.php file has root ownership assigned which is not correct. So I updated the owner of the group to be your cPanel user, which is by default.

I also fixed the permissions of all files and folders on the account and there should be no other issues expected.

Hope this works

Thanks, i can able to modify the setting from your global configuration setting now.

But i wonder why if i temporary disable all those setting except SEF setting (http://take.ms/4uFpa), it seems like I hitting this "no input file specified" when i access one of the page.

May i know do you encounter this issue in previously?

By the way, i still investigate on this issue.

The second login link above does not work for me and I still see no comment forms anywhere as guest or logged in. Some people, however, must see them as Peter made two recent comments.

As to recent changes:
1) on 05May 2018 I posted on Joomla.org forum
After updating to Joomla 3.8.7 yesterday, I find today that I'm unable to login on the front end. No error is shown. I'm using SCLogin and just updated to the latest version of it (7.2.5) but still no login. I have not changed anything else. Any suggestions of where to look/what to do? I did clear the cache and also went into Cloudflare and cleared that entire cache to no avail. The behaviour is the same in Firefox and Chrome.

and
This same thing happened exactly a year ago + a day see: viewtopic.php?f=710&t=950079
The solution was: Somehow the menu link to registration had disappeared (strange) but setting up a new one fixed the problem.

2) So I deleted SClogin and with it social logins; tried to install login Popup by ExtStore (plugin disabled) which I couldn't get to work so went to the standard Joomla login which required new menu item etc.

3) Since I wasn't using SCLogin, I also deleted the component JFBConnect.

Other than Joomla updates and regular component updates, those are the only recent changes to the website, I believe. In Spring this year i did switch from Servint to Siteground with php version 7.0

Hope this helps. Thanks for your continued support.

Just got this concern from a member Walter.
I tried to post reminders about the upcoming Rouge Park day trip and my trip to South America in October on the ToHi Blog.

However, I'm unable to create any new blog posts. When I finish composing a post and click "Publish Post" on the right-hand side nothing happens. I get re-directed to the ToHi general Blogs page, but my posts don't get published or saved at all!

I tried to make a blog post to check this and could not get it to post as well. It just redirects to a blog post list.

Perhaps you changed something in your checking the other issue?

Hey John,

Perhaps you can start a new thread regarding this new issue on our forum? because this issue already different than first question, it would help us to follow up your issue easier.

In meanwhile, i realised you have enabled autoposting feature for Facebook and Twitter on your site, i afraid it will send out those test blog post when i do some testing, is it okay with this if i publish some test post on your site?

By the way, what i did on your site yesterday, everything already revert back to the original, but i will check this issue once you grant me the permission to submit test post on your site.

Hey John,

After we checked this long hour ago regarding this comment form disappeared issue, I still unable to figure out why this only happen on your site so far what i know, because other user site show the correct commend form.

By the way, i did applied some temporary fix into these few files on your site, it should work fine now.

JoomlaFolder/components/com_komento/komento_plugins/com_content.php
JoomlaFolder/plugins/content/komento/komento.php

I also will log this issue into our issue tracker, if this temporary fix can work for all, we will include this fix into next release version as well.

Yes you can issue some test posts on the site or disable autoposting for a few minutes while you do the test posts. I'll leave this up to you. Perhaps do them in the Admin blog and I will delete later.

Also I will move new issue to a new ticket as requested.

I've applied some fix into this file JoomlaFolder/components/com_komento/komento_plugins/com_easyblog5.php on your site, it should show those comment form on the easyblog page now.

By the way, i realised that comment submit not working even through those Easyblog subscribe button as well, as long as that is related with the ajax call, it will failed.

It seems like somewhere not configure right and i still investigate this issue.

I have asked the server host to check the server configuration,Today I found out that registration on my site is no longer working also -the person registering just gets an Error: Complete the captcha. This may be part of the same problem???
i also mentioned ajax problem that you mentioned to check.
I'm not sure what you mean about the colleague link above -what as the issue to check?

Oh, i think no need check anything now because your webhosting provider already figure out this.

https://stackideas.com/forums/post-not-publishing-in-easyblog#reply-427524

Even i revert back those changes on your site, everything seems work perfectly fine now.
