Hm. I think I did not explain it clearly. Let me try to explain it again but this time we use Facebook as example.
When user create an album and then upload a single photo to the album, the stream generated will be linked to the photos itself, hence the comment and like will also linked to that photo. However when user create an album and then upload 2 or more photos into the albums at once, the stream generated will contain the aggregation of photos and the stream will be related with the photos album itself. The photos album stream comment and like will also be linked to the albums. Refer my video example from Facebook here for a better view,

Easysocial was using the same behavior since 1.0 and by right this should be the correct behavior on how albums and photos stream should work.
