I made a big mistake when informing my members that they would automatically receive notification of ALL BLOG POSTS AND COMMENTS if they simply registered at the site.

On the Blogs tab under Notifications I can set NOTIFY ALL MEMBERS ON NEW ENTRIES. On Comments I can't do that. Only subscribers receive notification.

Is there some kind of quick fix I can use so that everyone will automatically receive comments? This is very important.

ALSO - There may be a problem with subscriptions. I see that 17 users (filtered by site) actually subscribed but in the Mail Pool it shows notifications were sent to only three (3) subscribers.??? I have the cron job setup correctly I believe because all users receive blog post notices.
Hello,

Can you provide us your backend and FTP access so we can check your subscription issue and see what we can do for your first issue on comment notification. Please advise.

Hello,

For the notify all members on comment posted, please replace the attached file in ../administrator/components/com_easyblog/tables/comment.php.
For your second issue, it is because the subscribers for site subscription is only for new blogpost. I've made a test post and it is successfully created email for all subscribers.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! That solved the issue for me.

Will I have to replace the comment.php file each time an update is released? Or can a NOTIFY ALL MEMBERS ON NEW COMMENTS toggle be added to the Comments tab under Notifications in a future release?

Hello,

For now, we don't have any plan to include it in the future release. Hence you have to replace the file each time you update EB. However, I will discuss with our developer about this option.

Hopefully you can use this information to support the discussion with your developer.

I manage a site for a property owners association (sometimes referred to as home owners association). All members can post to the blog and 100% of blog posts AND comments are of interest to all members. I can answer yes to a simple question and all users will receive notice of all new blog posts. This can’t be done for comments. In fact, it appears there is not a way for individual users to subscribe to receive comments. The importance of this feature is significant.

The only other comment that I will add is there are literally thousands of POAs and HOAs in the United States. Just do a Google search.

A response is not necessary. Thanks for listening.
