I've looked through the themes and there are elements of two that I like - Simplistic and Origami. I like the menu style in Simplistic and the post style in Origami (see attached).

Is there a way to combine those two elements into a new theme?
Hello David,

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately there is no settings for this You will have to hack the files. The only difference here is the styling. You can find the styling here for simplistic

JOOMLA/components/com_easyblog/themes/simplistic/css/styles.css

Just apply the toolbar classes css styling as an override Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Adelene, thanks for your help. I found these instructions on creating overrides (http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/customizations/template-overriding) and think I've followed them, but want to double-check.

I copied the styles.css files for both Origami and Simplistic to my desktop, then copied the section starting with "/* blog toolbar */" from the Simplistic styles.css (#1) to the Origami styles.css (#2), and created the folders as outlined in the article. I copied #2 (modified Origami styles.css) to /templates/mytemplate/html/com_easyblog/css/ and copied the common.css file to /templates/mytemplate/html/com_easyblog/assets/css/.

So #1, I want to make sure I followed the right process here. And #2, when it talks about the php overrides, I'm not sure which file I should copy to /templates/mytemplate/html/com_easyblog/. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your help!

Best,

Dave

Hello David,

Sorry for the late reply. You can't have 2 styles.css in the override folder. The override is for 1 theme at a time. What i would suggest here is to set the origami theme as default. Then in the override folder set it this way,

JOOMLA/templates/your-template/html/com_easyblog/css/styles.css

You will need to use the origami styles.css file here. Then proceed to copy the "/* blog toolbar */" styles from the simplistic file and place it in the styles.css.

Alternatively you can use copy the css codes under "/* blog toolbar */" to the template custom css file. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Adelene, thanks for your help. I think I did what you'd recommended but the theme hasn't changed. Here's what I did.

- Copied the Origami and Simplistic styles.css file to my laptop;
- Copied the /*blog toolbar */ section from the Simplistic css to the Origami css;
- Uploaded the modified Origami.css to joomla/templates/easyblogtemplates/html/com_easyblog/css

I've attached the styles.css file (the blog toolbar section is at the top). Can you give me some pointers on what I should do differently?

Thanks for your help!

I'm connecting just fine with that username and password.

Maybe you need to specify port 21 when you connect?

I'll retype the info again. Please let me know if you're able to get through.

Hi,

This was working, but now it's reverted back to the standard theme. Can you take a look and see what the issue is?

Thanks for your help!

I'm seeing the attached, both when I log in and when I view it from the public-facing site. The menu bar is different. In case it makes a difference, I'm using Google Chrome. It did look correct last time I tried it.
