Dear support,

We performed a customization with Cometchat extension on the EasySocial notification dropdown as per the attached photo. What the customization does is that when the user clicks on a message on the dropdown then the cometchat one-on-one chat box opens.

If there is an unread message in the dropdown this is displayed in the same color as the rest messages that are read i.e. in white background. Is this how it is supposed to be or did we lose this feature because of the customization?

We do not want to mix you up with any css coding, just we would like to know if this is how it is designed in order to contact the customization team to correct it.

Regards,
Hey Phivos,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

By default that conversation drop down unread message will show the colour.

You can refer on my attached screenshot below.

Dear Arlex,

We contacted Cometchat customization team and they insist that the problem comes from core EasySocial. We even disabled CometChat and checked and the problem is still there. Can you have a look? We checked with the google chrome "inspect element" and all the unread messages have a class=" is read", therefore, there is no difference in the background color.

If you check right now the customization is removed.

I include some test users in my first post in here.

hey Phivos,

My fault, after checking the code, it seems like we have built-in feature for Easysocial which you can configure to mark all conversation as read when you open the drop down conversation message.

I already help you set to off, it should work fine now.

Dear Arlex,

We cleared cache and still the messages are all marked as "read". We checked that the setting as mentioned above is set to "no". Can you have a look?

Actually I already help you changed the setting before I replied you just now.

By the way, I retest again, it seems work fine for me, you have to create another new conversation.

You can refer on my attached screenshot below.

Dear Arlex,

We can see it right now. Yes it works.

The only issue is that sometimes it does not work and the messages are always displayed as "read". Did you face that issue again? i.e. not be always displayed correctly?

Hey Phivos,

Thanks for getting back to us that was worked.

It should work always because when disable that setting, so the system will not automatically update that new conversation status to `read`.

If the issue still persists, perhaps you can guide me how to replicate this on your site so that I can take a look again.

I already tested, it work perfectly fine for me.

You can take a look of my screenshot below. And I also noticed you have changed that unread color.

Note : Also do not open the message from the 3rd party chat box, just test Easysocial system default conversation page and conversation notification drop down section.
